"Lucas Approves Indiana Jones 4 Script
Source: Variety May 29, 2005

Variety reports that screenwriter Jeff Nathanson's scripts for Indiana Jones 4 and Rush Hour 3 are moving in opposite directions.

While the trade previously reported that Chris Tucker was expected to sign a $20 million deal which would fast-track New Line's Rush Hour 3, the actor ended up not doing so.

Meanwhile, Nathanson's draft for Indiana Jones 4 has apparently met with the approval of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg. But before Paramount can move forward, Harrison Ford still has to sign off on the script, and he hasn't yet read it.

The trade adds that with "Star Wars" off his plate, Lucas recently summoned Nathanson to his Bay Area headquarters, where they went over the draft. The screenwriter also got notes from Spielberg, who brought him into the mix after working with him on Catch Me if You Can and Terminal.

Scheduling Indiana Jones 4 for a 2006 start will be tricky for Spielberg, who next heads to Europe to shoot his untitled drama about the aftermath of the 1972 Munich Olympics for Universal and DreamWorks, and is expected to follow in January with a DreamWorks film about Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War, to star Liam Neeson."

A teaser trailer I found (http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2667888?htv=12)

Im really hoping all this is true.....I just watched the all three movies last week, and enjoyed them like it was my first time seeing them

That trailer looks like a fan film ... Any reason to expect that is the name/plot for Indy 4? Sounds a little too similiar to the VG Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.

Now don't get me wrong - I really do like Harrison Ford as an actor - but come on. How about Indiana Jones and the Lost Geritol?

New Indiana Jones 4 Status Update -

08-02-05 Posted by Eddie Mishan

We have received information from an anonymous source who works very close with Spielberg, who gave us the following information about Indiana Jones 4, some of it you have heard, some of it you haven't:

* Steven has agreed in principal to Nathanson's Indy 4 script.

* Steven is leaving his schedule open for Indy 4 after Munich is released.

*Everyone in Spielberg's circle, including Spielberg himself, are very excited about Indiana Jones 4 and are hoping that it gets greenlighted.

*George Lucas and Jeff Nathanson are currently tweaking the Indy 4 screenplay.

*The tweaked draft for Indy 4 should be finished by the fall to be submitted for greenlight.

*Harrison Ford has agreed on the script as well.

We believe this source is very reliable, for it is someone who is a very close friend of Steven Spielberg, and who works very close with him. This is more-or-less a status update on Indy 4, but the most important thing to note from all this is the fact that Spielberg and everyone in his circle is very exciting about the fourth Indy Jones film.

TIE.c has also gotten word from a source within Paramount Pictures. It seems that the current release date for Indiana Jones 4 is February 2nd, 2007. Of course, this date is VERY tentative, and I can almost guarantee that it will change, but it is the current date that Paramount is shooting for.

That's all for now, keep it here on TIE.c for the latest!

Oddly enough, RH3 is filming too. I'm not sure what else Tucker was planning on doing anyways, instead of RH. It's not like he'd get 20 million for anything else.

Is this going to be animated?

Harrison Ford at age 63 is to old to play Indiana Jones.

Heh. They are filming some scenes for Indiana Jones 4 on the Essex Steam Train here in CT. When I went to get lunch today, saw the train and a bunch of old-fashioned cars, but no Indy. Oh, and a bunch of paparazzi trying to get pics. Kinda funny. I could play the marauding alien from space!
