Curse the timing of that Portuguese team. If Robles had been put up last week when I was swimming in money I would have taken one for the U.S. in a heartbeat. Now it is going to be ungodly difficult.

I have a young group of scoring trainees and am in no threat of relegation and train a Cyprus U-20, and soon to be Bolivian U-20. In short, unless a team like Tombstone Titans steps up I am one of the best destinations for Roger Robles's continued training.

I have put up the following players for sale to raise money for Robles:

Some of those are players I just bought so I listed them right at the exact return number. I posted here, because I don't want to be banned for a transfer add on the USA conference.

One week prior and I could have given him a good home where strikers roam.

One week ago I would have bid $4.5 Million on the spot, this week I have to rely on the generosity of teams to make early bids on my IMs and defenders.

My vision for Robles is to turn him into an uber-multi-skilled player. My other forward trainees are already on this training program, Robles would just be an amazing compliment to what I'm already doing. He could be the best multi-skilled forward in the world in fact. I think at mythical scoring/titanic passing he'll be among the best forwards in the world and his wage would still be a very affordable $90,000 a week. At magical/extra-terrestrial he would still have a competitive wage, yet be among the most talented forwards in the world. This is the direction national teams are headed in the future anyways, the US has an opportunity to be ahead of the rest of the world with the training of this player, so this opportunity should not pass. If the new owner simply trains him to divine/solid(or worse stops training him before that) then Robles just becomes another world hopping mercenary and the U.S. loses big time on a player that could give our national team a competitive edge on other teams in the world.

Why is is that when I try to do a search on ol' Rog's name it doesn't bring up the guy that you all are talking about??

That's an excellent idea. Our best forward at the moment is divine/excellent. Having someone on the map with ET or titanic passing at that level scoring would be outstanding.

Unfortunately, not many people think along those lines, because they view passing and other "secondary" training as a waste of time.

Are you training passing ?

If yes, I'd like to know how you plan it as I might switch to passing training next season. I am still debating this with defense training.

I train both scoring and passing. Last season my mix was 11/5. The thing holding me back from a more even split at the moment is my midfielders aren't ideal candidates for passing training.

Paks,

do you train the first 11 weeks at scoring and next 5 at passing or do you mix it up?

I mix it so that I have the option to make unexpected tactical changes in league games. I can pull a 4-4-2 CA out of thin air on passing training weeks and then play the 6th forward in a midfield position in a friendly. I have the best midfield in my series this season, so that isn't as much of an issue as it was last season when my midfield stunk.

FYI, the Portuguese team is also buying a French Nat teamer, just to let him rot in hell. I advise your NT coach contact the GMs. The Portuguese team has just sold all its players (I think we talk about the same Portuguese 1st Div team)

Well, I'm out of the Robles sweepstakes. I can't raise the money. The current high bidder is FC Pain Cave, a U.S. division V team, let's hope an American team stays the high bidder.

I knew FC Pain Cave sounded familiar...they're the ones who currently have the best youth pull I ever had (17 yr, passable scoring, solid passing...at the end of the season of course).

And looks like they won the bidding too.
