This just came to me as a possibly amusing little game. Apologies if its been done before. Rules are simple. Post a screenshot from an older game, the world tries to guess it. Whoever wins posts the next screenshot. And so on, and so on, and so on.

Weird. They show up in Firefox but not IE. Get a real browser, you putzes. :p That said, I was just using GIS to link stuff up so some may not have gotten through to everyone. Normally, I'd assume it was one of those instances where I could see them since they were cached but no one else could. However, since some people were actually seeing the images then I suspect it's browser issues.

Sir Fozzie got the baseball ones correct: Bases Loaded, RBI, Nintendo Baseball. He also got the other racing game (Roadblasters). The games that some of you on the inferior browsers missed were Shadowgate, Lakers vs Celtics, and Marble Madness.

It was the original Final Fantasy. Aside from some gameplay tedium (@#%@#$@#%#@% elf cave), this was back when the series didn't have angsty anti-heroes and whiny useless villains and stupid plots, relying on shiny graphics and silly minigames to boost popularity... but I digress.

I think that might be it for me tonight but I really am considering making this a daily or a couple times a week thing over in the dynasty thread where I post maybe 5 pictures of slightly more obscure stuff and let people guess.

Anyone remember this sucker? One of my favorite games, especially with 2 players.

I remember playing it a lot in my first year of undergrad. The computers in the lab in the dorm were 486 SX 25's, which played at about the right speed when the army fighting wasn't too big but could get a little too slow otherwise.

One of the guys got his hero up to level 36, if I remember right. I think the guy was enough of a beast to win battles singlehandedly.

Yep, that's the one.

Heh, I got up to a lvl 36 Druid at one time. Always liked the Druids because there attack was them throwing a row of magic acorns that exploded. You just can't beat that.

Blast doing sieges and stuff. Good times. There was another D&D strategy game I played quite a bit back then also but can't for the life of me think of the name now. You basically picked buildings and such, and units would be made. I want to say you had little to no control over what they actually did, but they'd fight off invaders, etc.. This is probably the worst description of a game ever, so I'll stop.

Ayup. That one in particular is KQ2. The first of the King's Quests I finished.

Which, on a slight tangent...anyone else played the remake of KQ2? It's INCREDIBLE. The folks who did it did such an incredible job, and modified the story/quests so that it's almost an entirely new game.
