I was wondering if the U.S. Navy still buries sailors at sea. For example: If a sailor dies at sea in a fire will he be buried at sea or is there a hold on board that is designed specially for the dead. Just wondering.
Hmm. Held on board I believe. We do burials at sea, but they're retired Navy types. We've had sailors die while at sea and they're held until they could be shipped home.

A couple weeks ago I was emailed a series a photos at work for Memorial Day on photos of memorial services being done in the military for servicemen dying in Iraq and Afghanistan and there was definitely a picture of the Navy conducting a burial at sea I assume for a Navy SEAL since that's the only Navy personnel I can think of dying in those conflicts. I also assume this was based on the individual's burial instructions because I doubt they'd "just do it." So yes, the Navy most certainly continues to conduct burial at sea for members dying in the line of duty. Unfortunately I am away from my regular office at school otherwise I could find that picture and share it with you all, but I am 100% certain of what I saw.
