I need help. This is my 5th or 6th year in hattrick and I got promoted this year, but I am overmatched in div. IV and I am not quite sure what to do about it. I am a forward trainer and have a few guys that should pop in the upcoming weeks. 1 world-class and 2 brilliants which I will be selling. I was thinking about using that money to significantly upgrade my midfield and purchase a couple of 17 pass/pass and one 18 formidable forwards. Is this a good route to go? Where should I be dumping my money? I was thinking of playing both my wingers TM...should I just purchase pure middies or should they have some wing ability? I just need some input because I feel like Im not really improving my team the best way I can...I need any advice you can dish. Should I post my players? My ratings? Thanks in advance.

I think you will get the most help by posting a list of your players and their skills. Also, post your ratings from a "typical" match in which you used your starters.

I'm not a forward trainer so, y'know, grain of salt and all that. Oh, and I have not read your roster since, umm, I don't have that level of attention span anymore so this is more general thoughts than anything else.
First, I would NEVER EVER and, I mean, EVER consider playing "both wingers" anything while training forward. Especially up in D.IV. I would go with 3 inner midfielders and you have to decide if you want to go toward middle with your single winger based on how your midfield compares with the rest and what kind of winger you have.
Second, I would upgrade that goalkeeper to outstanding+ with whatever money you get from your sale. Your defense needs to improve to at least an acceptable level.
Third, I would get the best trainees I can with the money you have and are going to have before going after your midfield improvement. If possible, I highly recommend chasing down a header specialist or two since that can improve your return. I'm a fan of unpredictable but not everybody is so to each their own.
Lastly, I would improve your midfield as best you can. I'm a big fan of trying to improve one weak link at each upgrade but, again, mileage varies with these things. I would look for someone in the 20-23 year old range. Any younger and you are fighting trainers for possible trainees and paying extra for no good reason. Any older and you are fighting Bjorn's version of Father Time and losing returns on that investment. As a scoring trainer, you are not in desperate need of offense so you may be able to save some cash on passing in your midfielders. That is, of course, one of the good news. Oh, yeah. If at all possible, see if you can get one with some leadership. He may be able to become your next coach if he gains experience at a quick enough rate.
I would also give a glance at that scoring/passing plan that was discussed a week or so ago. That seems a nice plan for keeping wages down but I know nothing of it or its details. Good luck. :)
