Alright,

I have been stuck in this series far to long and I want out.

I am sitting at 2nd in this series, and I think I can actually take first, but it will be a battle between the Lancers and Ajax.

I know MF rules all...and I am thinking I will need to upgrade there in order to move up to IV.

Right now I am sitting with my starterts at MF

Brilliant/Outstanding/Outstanding

I run a 3-4-3 and I set a WTM in order to up my MF.

What should I be looking for to up my MF...

I run a 3-4-3 with a magnificient/ magnificient / world class. I got 3 19 year old brilliant scorers that are starting and getting trained, my defense consists of 3 solid defenders in front of a titanic keepr. It hasn't been enough to win the V.172 title, this may be my year though. Probably average a 195+ hatstat, but I'll be competiting with three other clubs though that can probably average a 185+.

I've always marginally gotten by with a level or two below what my middies should have to compete, but made up for with good experience.

To answer your question, the 2 level upgrade is in effect. Go up to Magnificent on one of the IM's. Maybe grab a 24yr old with some exp. Sell the outstanding, probably end up being a $2-$2.5m investment.

Ugh, I know the feeling.

You just get tired of treading water.

After last season in v.56, I made the ultimate decision and got bushwhacked into a division6 league.

Right now, while I play against bots, my team is more stable, and I think I have the potential to advance long into the cup.

The loss of supporters will be assuaged by the long cup run, the constant wins and the cash of going deep into the playoffs as well as a very happy supporter base for knocking out my opponents in league.

Right now, my team spirit is very high and team confidence is high, and I may be able to MOTS without any real penalties for a while.

My 35 year old mid/defender finally got to excellent experience (been playing him in league matches which I couldn't do last season), so he's ripe for promotion to coach next season when I'll be back in division 5.

The worst thing that could happen is that I get hit into a tough division 5, but I've been there, done that. Next season I'll be doing it with a strong cash warchest, a lot of experienced players due to cup/league play (I've reduced the squad to my starters plus my youth strikers, so there should be some dual experience boosts).

I should easily get the scoring title.

I don't have to rush to sell players to save cash for upgrades, I can hold players longer so I can train them longer, so as to attain a higher profit margin.

I guess I've gone Zen in taking the path of least resistance, there was such a logjam in v.56 that unless I had won a youth pull lottery I was looking at a 4-6 placing for the next two to three seasons.

I think my team can compete in most division fours, but I'll need to see if I can accomplish that in two seasons.

Plus, I really do relish scaring the hell out of whatever division 5 I am autopromoted too.

I seem to be filling out 2/3 of my 80k stadium, which is nice too...couldn't fill half the stadium last season.

EDIT: That being said, I'm not saying demote, I'm just saying I know the feeling of trying to compete in a difficult series and I salute you for sticking it out.

I'm definitely part of the v.189 club! Only I've been in this pathetic position for three months longer than you have and more than two years overall. I had one shot at promotion a year and a half or so ago when I had just started and didn't really know what I was doing (not that I could make that claim now). After treading water for so long, it's difficult to stay motivated to keep playing the game.

dola,

I would like to think that whichever one of us gets out first will be quickly followed by the other.

It should happen and easily, I can't believe I lost to Paris, but it serves me right for trying to get the MF majorly from him...I honestly think he MOTSed me as well, but I can't tell....

Anyways, we face off this Sunday to see who gets 1st....

The Dark Side clouds your judgement.
