Flat Panel Monitor: Analog vs. Digital

I'm getting a new computer and Dell has a free 19" analog flat panel. A digital flat panel is $289 more, so obviously they are giving the cheap one for free.

My question is if an analog flat panel is better than a regular CRT monitor? How much crappier of a picture is an analog than a digital, or what is the difference in picture quality, resolution or whatever- for those with some idea since I have never had flat panel?

I can't compare the digital and analog flat planel, but I got a 19" digital flat panel and it is simply the most amazing monitor I've ever had. I've even taken to routing my cable through my computer and watching movies on it. It's an excellent monitor.
