I do have a question....

I am losing interest in the game, big time, I have been in the same series now forever, and I just lost my 2nd series match today to ensure that I will not promote....

So I am thinking I might change my training in the middle of the season to bring me more in tune with the game.

Right now I train forwards, and they do make me some money, but I am only training 6 a week.

I am looking at Defenders and Middies and seeing I can effectively train more a week.

Right now, I know if I were to flush my team and start over, I have a decent chance at buying a good rebuild....

What would you guys train if you were going to start from scratch again?

if you want to build interest in the game, i highly do not recommend defense training. its extremely slow with pops and hard to win consistantly if you want to train 10 guys a week. and the profits are ok, but not as big as scoring and playmaking, it take a big weirdo like myself to actually enjoy it ;)

if you want to do something interesting, really dont know what to tell you. maybe dump some money in a national player or two? or try mixing up your scoring training with passing training? maybe train set pieces for a season or two?

Set pieces has the potential to be very profitable, depending on how much capital you start with...

Young-ish excellent defenders with no secondaries and passable/solid SP cost ~$300k, train them for a season in SP to around WC/supernat/titanic, sell them for ~$700k-$900k... rinse, lather, repeat. Training forwards in SP is about as profitable as well, similar to the numbers above...

My plan is to do the following:

1) Train up my current guys to titanic+, stop before their wages get out of control. I'm looking to train them up to the 20k - 30k a week point.

2) Keep the two I want to keep, and sell the other 4 trainees. Sell my currenting starting midfielder.

3) Buy 2 19 year old stud wingers who have a little bit of playmaking to begin with. Purchase one 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 inner midfielders for playmaking trainees.

I can't ever seem to get enough possession, so since I can't beat em, I'll join em.

So...I have been thinking, and I know what I am going to do...

First off, I am going to sell two players to drum up close to 2 million in capital....

Then I will train my MF's to where they pop....which will give me Mag/Brill/Brill

I will then take my 2 million in capital and start to ramp up a SP training program...buying Excellents with high (Passable +) SP, I should be able to get close to 5 or 6 of these right off the bat...I already have a few World Class SP guys so they will jump up some more...I have a youngin that is sitting at Solid, and a few other in the Passable+ range already....so my current players, plus additions I add over the long run, will definately help...and we will see what kind of income I can churn from there.

you can train up to 50 players doing SP. so you might want to consider picking up a ton of 17 year old passable skilled player in a primary skill, then sell when they hit 19 and/or divine

Hmmm....I could definately do that....I was thinking I might be able to build the players up if they were at Excellent.

Excellent set pieces? It probably wouldnt hurt to get 17 year olds with higher set pieces for your extra to fill out the 50 if all other things are equal. but when you pop every other week, it isnt going to be that big of a deal :)

i just know as a defense trainer, i occasionally look for 19 year old divines with a descent primary skill to train. i have one that is divine sp, soon to be formidable defense, inad passing and powerful at 21 years old. i know i am not the only guy out there looking for these types of trainees.

I was thinking Excellent Primary Skill....granted when I sell them, I would only be looking at maybe 200K increase from what I purchased but when it comes out to 30+ guys at 200K+ extra income....I am happy there...

But I will look into the Passable and/or solids.

The SP market for players with solid primary skill isn't as good as it used to be, I'd get excellents if you can afford them...

If you have supporter, join the Set Pieces Federation, there's a ton of good info there.

fyi, i just passed on getting this player. but had he been american or i was in the need of a new trainee this week i would have been all over him. it might give you an idea of the type of guys to get at 17 that i mentioned above as an idea.

19 years old, solid defending, no secondaries to speak of other than divine set pieces.
he sold of 650k USD.
