Please keep this topic on track. Just wanted to know some info from those who have gone through this procedure.
I had mine a week ago yesterday and still am having pain. I called the doctor and they say it could last for a couple maybe even three weeks!!!
From those who have had this done is this correct ? I have talked to some people at work and friends who have had it done and they don't seem to rememeber it taking that long for the pain to go away.
Thanks

From what I understand, it is a relatively painless procedure that gets you back to work in about 72 hours. I had my vasectomy done in 2001, and experienced a little pain.
I was put on percocet for the 72 hours afterwards...and then the next two weeks for complications, but that's another story. What pain medication are you on?
Do you have any bruising around your leg or scrotum? About 48 hours after the surgery, my left leg had a bruise about ten inches in length and five inches in width. I experienced minor pain and discomfort...especially when that blood drained back down into my nutsack. I went back into the doctor and showed him my nutsack, which looked like I had five testicles on one side (due to the blood). I had to go in for surgery again...
I think at this point, you should probably be on Tylenol III with codeine. If that's not helping, you should probably ask for some more percocet. Just make sure you get the coolace (I think that's the spelling), because percocet stops your shit up.

There was a thread (or two) about this awhile back, I think. I'm sure it devolved into something more funny than it was informative, but...
My boss had one a couple of years ago and he ended up getting an infection or something, and it laid him up for several weeks. It was kinda funny because he refused to tell anyone what he was doing (he had "a procedure"), which is fine, but after he started having complications and was walking around the office like a 90 year old man, he should have just come clean rather than keep up with the non-specific "procedure" thing.
We've decided we're not trying for any more kids, but I've not thought about having the procedure. We might regret that one day, but I think I'll take my chances at this point.

I had the procedure done in 2003 and it was easy. Pain was minimal at best and I probably could have gone to work that day. Had the procedure done on a Friday, so got the weekend to rest. No pain meds needed.

If I'm ever going to lose my manhood I'm doing it on a Monday and taking the whole week off.

I had it...wasn't bad at all. Couple days of minimal discomfort and the pirate was right back in shape.
As far as the guys who perform said procedure...they are a strange breed.

I had mine in December. I was bruised and a little gimpy, but I had no pain after the procedure. Having PAIN a week afterwards sounds odd to me.
Raiders - you were on percocet!? wtf!

I had enough percocet for 72 hours, and then Tylenol III with codeine if I needed it. I couldn't feel the codeine whatsoever, so I had to get more percocet. I was on it for about three weeks.

Holy CRAP! I'm serious, they gave me nothing and I drove myself home from the clinic. Again, I was a little gimpy for a week, but wasn't offered any kind of pain med. 3 weeks?!

you missed all the good parts
I particularly enjoyed the young female assistants who prepped the area to be worked on.
Oh and when the doctor shaved me it was a blast.

It's a modern day miracle.
Man, I can't believe you were denied the experience of having another man shave your nuts.
