So I had Sound Advice come out to the hosue and finally get everything hooked up and working. The sound is incredible but NOW I have 3 remotes, one for the Samsung DVD, one for the DirectTV, and one for the Denon 3805 receiver....which remote do you all recommend for consolidation. I have the Harmony by Logitech and hate it!! so that one is out.

I'd been thinking about the Harmony. what don't you like about it?
Definite winner:

the harmony is wierd, some of the choices on the menu page overlap eachother ruining the font. You never know what is going to end up where. The macro system setup is awkward and if it misses one in the stream youll be screwed.

I have one of the Philips Pronto Pros. It is pretty to look at, but a bitch and a half to get configured. I'm a very technical guy, and it took me a LONG time to get it setup working. So I would steer away from that one. But I have heard about a new universal remote from Philips that has recently come out, called the ProPronto, that has most every code already included, and it has a wizard like setup to walk you through device configuration. It also have a WiFi connection to download current TV listings.

200 some odd dollars for a remote control. Wow.

I've been through at least a dozen. I think they all suck.

Start here: http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/
I've got a pair of these: http://www.bluedo.com/bluedocgi/product.cgi?model=URC-8811PKG
And they work well. The JP1 cable lets you program them from the computer; see the first site for details. Cheap, set them up how you want, etc etc etc. No LCD panel so you have to remember what button you set up for what.

Second this remote - it's only $87 and works great on my ststem. Plus I love being able to program in the Sunday Ticket Channels with the team names ... I click on CHI-DET and it goes right to the Chicago Detroit game, etc... very cool.
