View Full Version : What to do, what to do?

Due to injuries in past seasons, being poor and starting off with a passable instead of a solid, and just plain not knowing the difference between a high/low solid, I find myself in a bit of a quandry.

My two top mids are both soon to be 22 and need to be sold or risk further damaging my program. However, my next-in-line mids are not ready to be front-liners in iv. If I sell my two, I can't buy 19 year olds that are good and trainable- that's what I have already.

So, I easily (I think) am a servicable D iv team and should stay up at the end of this season with the two mids playing, but:

if I sell them I will likely be a 7th or 8th place team in my series next year and go back down
if i keep them another year to let the replacements get ready, I have screwed my future but stay up in D iv
Any suggestions or thoughts?

22 is not the end of the world to be training. I ususally set 23 as the max for me. I think that as a midfield trainer you need to continue to cycle the middies. If you fail to sell at the time that you want to it will stagnate the growth of your other areas. In any situation, you will need to rebuild sooner or later. I say get rid of them and see if you can strengthen your team in other areas. You never know how the season is going to go. JMO

I agree with PM, but want to add, can you wait on one of them and sell the other? At least that way you're not making the change all at once and can get a little jump-start for the future and still salvage the rest of this season.

As PM said, you never know what might happen, so I don't think selling them (or not selling them) will "automatically" help or hurt. And, if you can improve the other areas of the squad in the meantime, then it's good stuff. :)
