Hello all,
The tourney is about to start. I'm currently in my friend's RV at a campground in Duncans Mills, CA. I'm starting at table 170, in the WCOOP #1 event. Wish me luck!

The blinds only increase every 30 minutes, so patience is the key. It will be several hours until the blinds will be come something to worry about defending.

We are at the first break. There are now 2560 left. I'm sitting in 1260th spot with $2725 in chips. Still a LONG way to go.

nice turn :)
(also: PHEW)
Cartman's opp caught a set of fours vs his kings. king hits on turn.

man, that was lucky.
Had KK in the big blind. Early position raised, I reraised, he called. Flop came little cards, so I bet big. He raises, and puts me all in. I call. He had three of a kind, 4s. Turn was a K, no 4 on the river, I win the pot, and double up.

Second break. There are 1677 left. I'm sitting around 346th spot with $6450 in chips. More people went out this hour than I was expecting, a bit less than half the field is gone. Glad I caught the lucky break a few hands ago.

Has cartman been disconnecting regularly from his RV feed?

uggh, I hope you didn't have it when you timed out there.

I had an ace. Did the guy show his hand?
Yep, the connection here isn't the greatest. The connection to the Internet is a DirectWay dish, and they are sharing it wirelessly throughout the campsite.
Radii

he didn't show, no.

09-04-2005, 06:14 PM

woot! KK vs. JJ, I double up. I was hoping the guy thought I was on tilt... :)

we are at the 3rd break now. I was moved to table 310. There are 930 people left, and I'm sitting in 410th place with $7530 in chips. That missed connection time put a dent in my stack, since I lost a sizeable bet to a timeout, then a few rounds of blinds as well. But I do have more chips than at the last break. I think we'll be close to the money line by the end of this hour.

I'm pretty sure Cartman won a satelite entry. The disconnects are killing him and are the biggest obstacle I see for him placing in the money.

Fourth break. 493 left, and I'm sitting in 225th place with $13,880 in chips. Getting real close to the money. Made a couple of over the top moves, and people blinked. Hopefully the connection stays mostly stable.

There was a playchip WCOOP event (do they give out bracelets? I'm not sure I'd even want one for winning such a thing) that went 25 hours. It was a stud event.
At four players left (when I saw it), two were disconnected/sitting out. Another one eventually just gave up and left, leaving the other guy to take all the chips...very....slowly...
Definitely the longest online tournament I've ever seen.

You have to have over 2000 (lifetime) FPPs to start a tourney.
OT: xfire is now tracking pokerstars and would be a nice way to know if one of us is playing. If you have xfire, my username is lytic.

I feel good about how I played. I think I played a solid tourney, and there wasn't any play I made I was unhappy with. Even that final hand. :) I wouldn't have played it any different.

Well considering I'm at 1972 lifetime FPP (I know this as I just made my last PS bonus today) I cannot start the tourney.
Silver -- I would happily do a PS/PP trade.

Your poker seemed very good, as always. Of course not being able to see the hands perhaps my opinion would change otherwise. I was particularly impressed with how seemingly selective you were with playing hands.
