And Jones says a "tough challenge" is being made "even tougher," because the Spartans have not responded to requests by UH for game film of MSUs win over Kent State last weekend.
Trading game-tape is common-practice in college football, but is not required in non-conference match-ups.

Jones says Spartans are guilty of a "breach of etiquette."

"We've been waiting to send ours, and talk to their video guy and they don't want to exchange tapes, and that's their deal," says Jones. "Michigan coaches asked Kent State coaches not to send it to us because we wouldn't send them ours, is what they told them. I mean, they don't have to exchange if they don't want to, they're not in our conference, but to not return a phone call and then to tell Kent State a false statement is kind of unreal, but hey, that's life in the fast lane."
This stems from last years game where Michigan State felt they were robbed.

"I'm ready to play Hawaii right now," MSU junior quarterback Drew Stanton said Saturday. "I'm ready to go. There's definitely a revenge factor because we feel we got slighted a little bit out there."

"We feel like we got screwed over there last year," said junior defensive end Cliff Ryan, who was ejected from last year's game for an altercation with a Hawaii player. "We feel like we had the game won, and then there were a couple mystery calls here and there."

Senior strong safety Eric Smith, who grabbed his third career interception Saturday, said the Spartan secondary was going through a developmental phase and will be sharper.

"I expect everyone to be ready for (Hawaii)," Smith said. "I don't think we'll need much motivation for this one."
Developmental phase? How 'bout the Spartan secondary just sucked?
