What a dark rainy day I thought this morning as my daughter woke me to begin another Friday. We came downstairs, did the daily things, played awhile...then she was a little hungry and I put her in her highchair....then I fed her a bit...and I hadn't noticed a thing wrong....


Then I look out my kitchen window and my entire yard was umm.....flowing....

We had a flash flood come through, water actually got up to touching our back deck...then thankfully it started receeding.

Really creepy to suddenly wonder if perhaps this WASN'T the best choice in rental property =)

Water, water everywhere, water near and far

Falling water turns to ice and flakes form out of snow

There's even water in your bath, splashing over you!

*Yes, I have a two-year old daughter and yes, I have read a child's book enough times to actually recite it completely from memory at this point.

I saw it on the local news today about North Buffalo. Up by the falls, it wasn't too bad, thought the power went out for a while.
