What are the best numbers you have ever seen in SP for a WR?

best i've ever seen by a guy i drafted was 866 catches and 59 TD's over a 14 year career (11,878 yards). I don't suppose that qualifies as great so I won't bother with his whole stat line. I usually don't concentrate on WR's too much, in my eyes they are not a good ROI proposition versus say a RB or a QB. A great QB can make average receivers very good, a great WR still needs a very good QB. For that reason I will RARELY resign a WR, especially cuz it seems even the decent ones want #1-WR money.

You looking for career or single season numbers? Reggie Norris of the IHOF a few years back was a beast. Let me see if I can dig up his numbers...

I don't play SP, but my best WR in MP after close to 6 seasons:

92 games, 545 catches, 10,129 yards, 77 touchdowns

Like 2200 yards and 22 touchdowns for one receiver I had on a team with a ton of stiffs surrounding him. It's all a matter of how good all the other options are.

I had a guy catch 120 catches and 18 TDs one year with a superstar QB (forgot their names). I usually have a balanced or rushing attack, and that year my top 2 HBs went down to injury so I went with a all-out passing (but not AI busting) system. I think we were 10-6 and lost in the opening round.

These were about the numbers I was expecting. I just had Michael Irvin in 1994 put up these incredible numbers. 146 receptions, 2956 yards receiving, 33 TD's.

I have never seen anything close to these numbers.

Troy Aikman passed for 6128 yards and 75 TD's.

That's disgusting. Just plain gaudy numbers. ;)

My Wr.'s usually retire at around their 9-13th years, Their numbers probably would have been great if they stayed but who knows. On average their stats average:
700 rec
8500-9000 yds
50-75 tds
Note that these are average and what I could remember from my long forgotten FOF career.

I've noticed this as well. WRs tend to want #1 money if they have started all year regardless of production. If their production was good, they'll want top dollar! I have a guy in my SP career in the 60s that wants 25-30 mil per year!

it depends on how talented WR is in the league overall. If he's in the 60s and still a top 5 WR in the league, of course he's going to want the big bucks.

So, what, do you only run ten times per game?

well it obviously isn't done with fof generated players. what was your team's record? what does the rest of the league look like? it's not hard to do this if you tanked all the other teams' players with codes

I didnt do anything like that at all. We did end up with a perfect record, my first ever. I used the draft files that you can find here on the website. I didnt watch any of my games, just simmed them. I didnt cheat in anyway!

its not hard to get that many TDs. I've gotten 63 in multiplayer two times in different leagues, so I don't imagine getting 10 more in single player would be difficult.

This is my all time freak. Played for one of my division rivals unfortunately. 2043 kind of sticks out :P His QB threw for 4,776 yards that year, so the other receivers on the team were not much to look at.

You're not paying attention.

Don't you see the "No Contract" buttons for both of them?

No, the guy was nowhere near the top 5, he was around the top 20.

Amazing. He reimported so many times, he actually got them to play for free.
