Passacaglia

So, I'm playing TCY and noticed a couple things.
1. USC's rival is USC. UCLA's rival is UCLA. I just thought that was funny.
2. Florida State and Miami are rivals. However, Florida's rival is Florida State. I thought that rivalries in TCY had to be a two-way street. Given that, why can't Michigan and Ohio State be rivals, and have Michigan State list Michigan as a rival? Michigan State and Penn State as rivals doesn't make any sense (right Schmidty?). It seems like the rivalry system is more flexible than I thought.
