Hey HT'ers!

I just promoted a trainee that I'm on the fence about what to do with him...

Thurman Battle
TSI = 370 , 17 years, passable form
Has disastrous experience and poor leadership abilities [Powerful]

Stamina: passable Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: wretched Passing: inadequate
Winger: wretched Defending: wretched
Scoring: passable Set pieces: poor

I train Scoring. My best forward trainee is 20 yrs old and is currently Outstanding (gonna sell this year at his next pop). None of my existing trainees really have any secondary skills worth mentioning (as a noob I was just focusing on Scoring ability).

My worst trainee has Excellent scoring and is 18 yrs old.

My question is do I add this guy to my training rotation or punt/sell him? I don't currently have an open trainee spot but I will within the next 2-4 weeks.

I think I'd outright sell him since he's Passable and lower than any trainee I'd invest in but the fact he's Powerful and has Inadequate Passing intrigues me...

oh what to do oh hattrick gods?!?!

personally, if were me i would sell one of my older trainees that i could spare the next time he pops and ad this guy into my training program at that point. play him as the forward sub in the meantime incase someone get injuried and he might get some training in the meantime.
again, thats just what i would do. there is probably no right or wrong answer as far as keeping him or selling him. if you keep him though, youll get last club money and mother club money instead of just mother club money. not that it would be worth that much, but its something.

I like to start a little higher up on the training curve- sure you invest more cash, but you take less time to train and get to the big bucks.

The only real warning flag with that guy is the "Powerful"- that scares away buyers so beware before you put a bunch of money and time into training him.

Sterling,,,why does Powerful scare away buyers? I thought that was good?

Any other abilities (like Powerful) that aren't considered good?

thank you!

Powerful is good for defenders, bad for scorers (from hattrix). Granted, if you live where it rains a lot, it's not so bad but if it's sunny a lot, big trouble.

Weather Event
a player will get influenced after a weather event happened:
so if you got the possibility to choose from players with nearly the same skills but different special abilities then take the following into account:

+ Technical players gain on Scoring and Playmaking skill in sun
- Quick players lose on Defending skill in sun
- Powerful players loses on Scoring skill in sun and also get more tired in sun

+ Powerful players gain on Scoring, Defending and Playmaking skill in rain
- Technical players lose on Scoring and Playmaking skill in rain
- Quick players lose on Scoring and Defending skill in rain

Still though, in rains about the same amount as it is sunny, so powerful players have the same chance of getting positive events as of getting negative events.

I'd sell him. I prefer starting with higher skilled trainees for maximum profit.

And on this guy, your maximum profit comes by selling him now
