View Full Version : Losing Interest...

So I've been around for a while, and my team has been moderately successful. We're a successful division IV team (2nd place last season), though this season looks to be a bit rough. I just can't seem to get as into Hattrick as I did before.
I still love my team, but for instance, I've had about $3.5M chilling in my bank account since week 13 or so of last season. I could really use a few midfield trainees, and another starter -- I just haven't made time to go out and get them.
Maybe it's just that I'm too busy nowadays, but I've seriously considered letting the Isla Vista Vandals fade into 'Bolivian.' Anyone else have similar issues like this? I feel like running the team on auto-pilot like I have recently is kind of a slight to the team, but I'd hate to see them disappear forever.

Yeah, what PM said.
Tho, the common answer when there are threads like this is to either play a "gimmick" team like having the same name or something. The other big option is to do a U20/Natty team player thing.

Yay, getting a NAT teamer. We have some french guys available if you want to be a "farmer" :)
PS : this is a serious offer

Heh, thanks for the ideas guys. Alf -- I'll look into it. I don't want to commit to it unless I am really going to commit though. And if I were to be a farmer, I'd probably rather be a US sort of guy :)

Even as a Mod, I get sick of hattie. Sometime you need to just take a break, log in once a week to set the friendly and league game. The interest will come back. During my move from Iceland back to the states, I was forced away from hattie and it renewed my interest.
My wife's team has been on auto-pilot for like 5 seasons now. :p
sometimes it takes longer, I'm hoping TP comes back to the game eventually.

dola
last season I almost stepped down as mod. I asked the GMs to find a replacement so I could train them during the election. I was losing interest and I was waaaaay too busy with real life.
I decided not to step down in the long run and I find time for hattie daily.

Well, my last five youth pulls have been sell-able, so that's something to keep me interested.
I think I'll keep the squad on life support for a while, and see if I can regain my interest. I just can't let them die...

If you're bored, I'd recommend doing enough to keep your team afloat, setting line-ups, friendlies, youth pulls, but don't bother with anything beyond the basics. It only takes a few minutes a week, and you avoid any regretful decisions.

The same thing happened to me some time back...it even got to the point where I missed a couple of friendly matches and lost training. But gradually things turned around for me, and hopefully they will do the same for you.
I think things like the new Arena Viewer help to keep the interest level, at least for me. It's fun being able to visualize your team and their arena as though they were real.
