Most days of the week, I have absolutely nothing to do at work. The projects I get assigned can be finished in like an hour, maybe less. I have no internet access (at the moment).

Any ideas? Thanks

While you have no access, take nude photos of yourself, and then when access comes back, post them.

Print out Sudoku puzzles and do them at work.

Uhhh - come here?

I'd love to, but I don't have internet access. I'm currently at home.

I had a job like that back in 1996/97. I was a temp at a no-longer-in-exsitence department store (Jacobson) for 9 months. I was in charge of "in-store signage." A painfully dull job, where I used Correl draw to make black and white signs that usually said nothing more than "Shirts $10". I designed templates for the limited universe of signs and could pretty much finish my day's work in like 1.5 hours or so.

There was no internet access.

I read a lot of books. I played a lot of computer solitaire, but hat grew old. I brought some games to install on the PC (a chess program and the like). I wrote out e-mails to people that I would save on a floppy disk and then send out when I got home. I was involved in a play-by-email campaign and I wrote out turns, saved them to a disk, and e-mailed them from home. I slept.

I am lucky enough to have an office, and am not closely monitored, so I have FM 2005 here at work, and play it here exclusively. Also some internet poker now and then.

I contact companies that employ other FOFC posters and rat them out.

I either took my laptop and played FM 05 when things were slow (days with plenty of no-shows or a light schedule) or I took a good book to read.

I'm in pretty much the same position right now, except I do have internet access. I would play some online games like backgammon or Scrabble, but I never know when I'm going to have to get up and go meet with somebody, so I can't play a game in which people are waiting on me. Also, I'm just a temp here, so there's not much point in installing games because I'll have to make sure that I clean everything out when my assignment ends, which could be anytime from tomorrow until I-don't-know-when.

So, yeah, I pretty much just sit here and scratch.

Sometimes I use a laser pointer and spin the dot around the clock on my wall clockwise, attempting to simulate Superman spinning around the Earth, so that time speeds up and I can get home.

And tempt waitresses with your ass, from what we've been told.

I'm in the same position, except with internet access. I get bored on the internet after awhile anyway. Of course, the tennis shop has cable TV as well. Sometimes I bring my laptop and play TCY or Tiger Woods Golf '04. A long time ago (in my first stint in the job) I brought my Xbox and would play NCAA in a position where I could see if people were walking up to the shop so I would just pause and turn off the TV before they came in. I don't really feel the need to do that anymore though, since they got cable.

Masticate very slowly.
When I go slow, I usually lose interest. So I really need to keep up the pace.

Oh you said masticate!
