Congrats!

I remember scrolling down that screen and searching for my name about 5 years ago when I took the Michigan Bar. A very nerve wracking experience. I just couldn't bear the thought of actually having to take that damned thing again...

LOL! Yeah, I know. That was not a happy experience to do once! Though I was less nervous while scrolling. One of my friends came in and said "I know something you don't know". I figured she wasn't doing that if I failed ;).

My testing session's exam results were the first ever posted on the internet in Florida, I heard. I remember having to draw an imaginary line from the left side of the screen, from my ID number, across each of the section results, to the right side, where it said "Pass" or "Fail." And of course, my "straight" line was slightly crooked, and the person below me failed, so for a moment, I about had a heart attack.

Congrats. I saw a commercial for a bartender school in Minneapolis. It looked pretty lame. I guess maybe the one you went to was cooler.

I was so nervous that I actually forgot my name. I was looking down the list of names and, when I got close to the first letter of my last name, I saw a fail. I immediately starting freaking out and, minutes later, looked back up to the screen and thought to myself, "Wait, my name isn't Roger!" Collected, I finally found my name and, of course, was overjoyed at the news of my success.

And yes, they listed pass/fail by name. Brutal.

Naw, I work for the government ;). Pay's crappy, but 40 hour weeks, and I do something good (protect people's pensions). So I may still have the oppertunity for a life :D.

Not in Florida. The next month or so, everyone turned into the biggest 7th grade gossipers you could imagine. "Guess who failed? You'll never believe it - and she even had a job as Judge Soandso's clerk lined up and everything! Eh, I never really liked her anyway."

The difference in everyone knowing you failed is that you were basically shunned until the next exam.

And our way was very awkward if you honestly didn't know the results and happened to run into someone who failed.

I was happy when I found out I passed, of course, but my second, almost as immediate reaction when I saw my score was, "Shit, I just wasted the last free summer of my life." I scored a 151 and the passing mark was 132. I think it's up near 138 now. And at the time, Colorado offered automatic admission to anyone who scored 153 or higher. So basically, I didn't score high enough for it to matter, but scored way higher than I needed for Florida. Instead of 2.5 months of solid prep time, I could have gotten away with like 2-3 weeks.

Congratulations! You must be feeling so great right now.

You guys are all lightweights with your talk of how painful it is having to check to see if you passed one time. Us actuaries have to study 400-500 hours for each of our exams and we do that twice a year for about 8 years. And the pass rate is ridiculously low, so I'm not looking forward to my next time. :(

Make sure you celebrate a ton, Siddiqui!

In CA, they put out the pass list three days after you get access to the system to check whether you passed or not, so you've got the weekend to tell your employer, family, friends, and whoever else cares that you didn't pass.

I was happy when I found out I passed, of course, but my second, almost as immediate reaction when I saw my score was, "Shit, I just wasted the last free summer of my life." Also, in CA, you only find out your score if you didn't pass. Thankfully, I don't know what I made.

That is quite an accomplishment -- not just the exam, but the years of study before it too. You have a right to feel on top of the world at this moment.

And you had better take advantage of it because soon you'll be a first year associate, and that's boot licking bottom, man..

Congratulations!
