60+ tackles in 4 straight years (5 if we count the season with 59), with a top of 85. He's in the 60s ratings range also.

I have to say that maybe in every career I've played, I had at least a DT with so many tackles.

I think the most I've ever had a DT accumulate were tackles in the low 60's, if ever. Never had one go anywhere close to the aforementioned DTs above...

I've seen something like this from time to time (80 or more tackles and effective pass rush too), but it's rare -- and usually (for me, at least) a function of a pretty crappy defense surrounding a pretty good DT.Yeah, I've gotten some crazy numbers from several different positions in year 1 of Empty Cupboard, in particular, but this guy played on a front four with average ratings of 58.8/64.5, that put up numbers as follows:

RDT Leo Herndon: 51 tackles, 15 assists, 10.5 sacks, 2 blocks, 15 hurries, 5.6PrPct/9.2 TkPct
LDE Travis Walsh: 45 tackles, 16 assists, 8 sacks, 2 blocks, 8 hurries, 3.1/7.0
RDE Burt Kletch: 48 tackles, 15 assists, 2.5 sacks, 4 blocks, 27 hurries, 7.2/8.2

FWIW, the linebackers were mediocre, and the secondary was pretty strong.

Another interesting thing of note on this season: none of the front four missed a single game, with injuries at 200.

Back to the original point though....I'm not sure I've seen 90+ tackles and 10+ sacks from either DT even on an Empty Cupboard year 1 team, let alone on a very good front four. Makes me wonder what kind of numbers he'd put up with a crappy defense around him.

Osprey RDT Charles Carreno has put up some strong numbers in the IHOF:

2008: 84/24 tackles (11.5 %), 7.0 sacks, 3 blocks, 10 hurries
2006: 73/27 tackles (10.1%), 8.0 sacks, 2 blocks, 13 hurries

I'd guess this is one.Yeah, I thought that, so I looked back. In 2015 (2 seasons ago), he had 81 tackles and 6 sacks. That year, we had very good MLB, decent SLB, and weak WLB (and pretty much the same DL and secondary as 2016, his monster year). His numbers definitely increased when I couldn't afford to keep my MLB around. What's *really* odd is that in 2015, we gave up 4.58 ypc, good for 31st in the league, and in 2016, with worse linebackers, it dropped to 4.02--11th overall. I think there's some evidence that Rawls took his game to the next level in 2016.

in particular: tackles behind the line of scrimmage....tackles within 0-3 yards, 4-7 yards, and the rest.

91 is very impressive, but if they are all 4-6 yards downfield, its not so great.

DT Jake Gray (French) in FOFL had 81 tck, 29 asst, 10.5 sack, 23 hurries last season; "only" an 11.4 tkpct though.

Endurance is one of those things where it overly skews a guys overall rating to higher than it should be.....to me its usually a useless rating. Im guessing that this guy's lack of endurance was compensated for by the fact that your team had the ball a lot, and he got a chance to rest?

LDE Walsh: 403 runs, 572 passes, 975 (52 end.)
RDE Kletch: 337 runs, 460 passes, 797 (25 end.)
LDT Herndon: 344 runs, 485 passes, 829 (47 end.)
RDT Rawls: 353 runs, 463 passes, 816 (0 end.)

I know that studies have been done on this, but to be honest I haven't paid close attention to them, based on my strong belief that Endurance doesn't matter all that much. (I did a study myself in either FOF3 or FOF4 that confirmed that.) I don't have playing time amounts, as I'm only keeping one save per season, so I can't tell you how played into it. What we can all see is this: players with endurance of 0, 25 and 47 all played a very similiar number of plays, and the guy with a 52 played disproportionately more plays than the other three. Clearly more than the endurance rating was at work here.

I just looked through the HOF in my 30+ year old league and while I found a few candidates that were like Skydog's, two of them with double digit sacks along with 90+ tackles (one had 109 tackles!!) NONE of them were quite the monster at tackling AND rushing the passer that Sherman Bolagh was up there. Look at the hurries he's got! Apparently he's unblockable.

That's got to be a very rare event..

How realistic is a DT with more than 48 or so tackles? Not very is my guess.

Do DT and FOF players in general do a lot of stuff that is not reflected in the stat sheets necessarily? As in if i have a stud Run defending DT, will he blow up key run block opportunities, but not necessarily get the tackle himself? Do players have to be double teamed and then free up their teamates for a sack? Anyone know the answer to this one?

This is based on nothing (certainly not on any research), but I do pay attention to endurance, and try to adjust for it a bit with playing time. I figure tired guys are more likely to get hurt. In anecdotal evidence, my injuries dropped when I lowered the playing time of low endurance players. But I'm sure in reality it means little or nothing. And my defense has been ravaged by injuries this season while I've been doing the same thing. So basically, I have nothing to add. :)
