Video Cards

How do you if your computer has an AGP or a PCI slot for video cards? I am looking into upgrading mine and ran across both on the net. My card is very basic now, ATI Rage Pro 128.

If the question is, "...how do you KNOW if your computer has..."

Isn't there a note about your AGP slot when the PC is booting up? Also there is your PC Bios...check with it and see if there is a listing for APG...but remember, you may have to flash your bios to get the most from your system.

But if it were me, I'd crack the case and look at the Motherboard...if you are tentitive about getting your hands in the case and playing with your PCs guts...you probably shouldn't. Find an old PC to 'practice' on, but, changing out a video card is one of the more simple processes.

Open the case and look at the video card. If it is plugged into one of multiple white slots, it is PCI. If it is plugged into a sole brown or black slot that is offset compared to the other slots in the system it is AGP.
