Are there any fans of these shows here at FOFC?
Thanks to the White Sox World Series run and then catching up on my other shows, I haven't seen an episode of Invasion or Threshold since early October. TiVo has saved 5 or so episodes of each (so far), but I'm left wondering if it's worth catching up with either one of them. Both were decent but flawed in the few episodes I saw, with Thresold (IMO) having the better cast, but Invasion (again, IMO) the better story.
So, any non-spoiler opinions on whether I should bother to watch the past month's worth of episodes of either of these, or just delete 'em and move on with my life?

I started watching Invasion but gave it up after 4 episodes or so. I just thought it was horribly written and not very interesting but YMMV.

Exactly. I gave it four episodes and I was done.

I've watched like 5-6 episodes of Threshold.. and I can't honestly tell you why.. I'll probably keep watching it.. with the same feeling... it's poorly written, a terrible plot, disappointing acting and the scenery feels soooo 1993
I hated Invasion in the beginning but it's actually been getting better, I'd say it's worth watching. It could end up being ultimate cheese, but at least there's been some different stuff that makes it okay.
Threshold looked amazing in the beginning but since then it's been a series of "this week's adventure" where everything ends in the exact same status that it started in. So far there has been very little development in the main storyline.

I could not stand invasion from the start. I gave Threshold a few weeks and have since given up on it. However, I'm still watching Surface on NBC.

I also think that Invasion has gotten better. Its not great, but decent enough to hold my attention after Lost.

I actually watch both, but I usually play FM or something during parts of them. They are just interesting enoug to keep watching, but not quite interesting enough to give them 100% of my attention.
Threshold and Surface lasted about 3 weeks before I gave up on them. I still record Invasion, but I'm thinking it might not make it much longer. I agree with those who say it's gotten better, but it still isn't very good. I think the only reason I'm still watching is a lack of other shows.

I picked Threshold to watch for a variety of minor reasons. I enjoyed the early episodes, but its been spinning its wheels. I think its dead as they pulled Friday's episode and will be showing it Tuesday of Thanksgiving week. A likely cancellation, IMO.

Invasion didn't impress me from the start and I gave up on it a long time ago.

Thanks to all who have responded for your thoughts. Seems there is very little enthusiasm for these shows, which mirrors my own "Watch or, eh, just delete?" conundrum.
I've decided to keep recoding them until the end of the month. I figure that if even having a ton of TV time over the long Thanksgiving weekend doesn't lead me to watch one or both shows, I'll know I should go the "delete" route, and it sounds like I won't be missing much.

Threshold has been cancelled. The acting was good, but they just didn't go anywhere with the story. CBS shuffling it to Tuesday didn't help, nor did the pulling/not pulling the show each week.

I'm sorry to hear that. I enjoyed the show the last few weeks.

I gave Invasion about 1/2 an hour before realizing it seriously sucked.

I ended up deleting all of the stored-up episodes of both Invasion and Threshold and removing them from my Season Pass list over Thanksgiving. Even though Alias and Prison Break are both going on hiatus until spring, I feel more confident in my decision every day. :)
So, this means that the only new shows added by my wife and me this TV season are...
My Name Is Earl
Prison Break
How I Met Your Mother
Commander in Chief
It should be fairly obvious which ones are just mine and which are just hers or shared. ;)

Alias has been cancelled. It may play out the season, but last I heard it was done. I guess that's like a 7th Heaven thing though, where they finish the season.

Which one of these shows is the one on Mondays opposite MNF?
I still think that X-Files had it right in going after the "Can't get a date crowd" on Friday nights.

Prison Break was on opposite MNF, but now that it's on hiatus, I don't think it's been announced where or when it will show up when it restarts next year.
I heard about Alias...on the one hand, it makes me sad, because seasons 1, 2, and 4 were some of the finest seasons of TV ever, IMO. On the other hand, while most of this season's episodes have been solid, there are so many new characters, it almost feels like an Alias spin-off rather than the real thing. So strangely enough for one of my favorite shows ever, I won't miss it much when it's gone. Weird...

When was Surface on? And why isn't the title of this thread "Invasion, Threshold, and Surface"?
Or is / was Surface that bad?

Surface is on Mondays, it's still on. Have yet to watch it, but I have all the episodes on my computer.

Out of all 3 I actually like Surface and still watch it.

That's too bad about Threshold. It was probably my favorite of the three, but really very little happened to push the show along. And of course I missed the last episode and that was before I knew it was cancelled. :(
Invasion was the weakest of the three I thought, but the last episode totally rocked, especially the parts with the Sheriff's deputy. The end scene there was really freaky.

Just to bump. Threshold has been showing on Sky One, I believe in England. I was looking on some bittorrent tv sites, and noticed some more Thresholds. I believe only 8 or 9 episodes were shown stateside. There are 12 releases through bittorrent right now. It has definitely gotten better in the last couple of episodes they didn't show. If they release it on DVD with all the missed episodes, make sure to catch the last disc or 2. Very good stuff. I also think Catherine Bell (or someone who looks a lot like her, looks good) makes an appearance.

Episode 11 is the one with Catherine Bell, 10 were shown here in the US, 13 total episodes. I enjoyed it, but understand why it was cancelled.

I think Invasion has gotten much better as the season as gone on. Now that the characters have been fleshed out a bit more,, it has made for some interesting plot developments.

Watched Episode 13 of Threshold. THat was by far the best episode of the season. This show looks like it was actually shaping up to be pretty good, but it looks like they already had their goodbye moment at the end (looked tacked on after the series was cancelled stateside), so that sucks. However, there are rumors that SkyOne partially funded the show and has rights for a season two, but I seriously doubt they'd be able to afford it, as it was an expensive show. Oh well. Seriously, torrent the last 3 episodes, they are worth it.
