And here I thought having one 1 IM pop to Brilliant and another pop to Formidable was cool.

saintjo - For the two defenders that popped, how old and at what level were they at when you bought them? And how much do those type of defender trainees go for these days?

I've just got the standard IM's popping to brilliant when they are 21-22, so I'm somewhat jealous.

the 18 year old i bought in the first week when he was 17. he was actually a solid, but i took a chance on him being high because of this TSI. turned out i was right and he popped to excellent that week. i paid 400k for him. he doesnt have any descent secondaries though.

the 19 year old i bought when he was 17. but it was probably a few weeks in to the season and he was a solid pull. he is a sympathic/solid and also has passable winger. i bought him for 250k. but he isnt from the USA and has no chance of u20.

you have to remember defense trainees are way cheaper than playmaking ones. plus i search for descent deals when i purchase my guys. i actually run with 11 trainees because the likely hood of one of my guys getting hurt is high because i have 5 of them on the field at a time. here are the rest of my guys...

19 formidable +2 (passable winger, this is my guy that only plays in a week when their is an injury)
20 excellent (divine set pieces)
20 brilliant +5 (passable passing)
18 formidable +6
17 excellent+4
17 excellent +3 (powerful)
19 formidable +1 (magnificent set pieces)
17 excellent +3 (inad passing)
17 solid +6 (inad PM, passable set pieces)

My best training week yet! :D

21 pop to magnificent
18 pop to outstanding
18 pop to formidable

Unfortunately, the outstanding and formidable are not good enough for u20. One of these days I intend to have a u20 scorer :)

last week:
21yo to world class.
this week:
19yo to magnificent (i think).

ibnsgirl, they are overpriced to get and keep. You might consult terpkristin about her experiences with a u20 player. :)

Defense trainees pop faster than IM's too right? Isn't it something like 5 weeks at their fastest?

ha, i wish. Defense is the slowest. 8 weeks for a 17 year old.

Got that backwards. My bad. I guess I was thinking of keepers.
