It just started for PST people. Anybody else watch it? I like the fashions we're rolling out, but I'm sad to see that Tyra's retiring. :( Not sure who our new face is going to be, though there's a few possibilities.

There you go! :D

I miss the Star Wars, fluffy pillow, limp-wrist-while-posing-like George picture. :(

I am sorry to see Tyra go as well. But, you bring up a GREAT point. There are a few possibilities, and I gotta tell, it is going to be one exciting thing to witness who fills the vacuum. Now, I am not suggesting someone can come into the next show and just dominate like Tyra did, and we might not see her likes again, (such as Amsterdam in 1994 and Vienna in 2000) but there is just so many candidates who CAN achieve at least a measure of greatness that Tyra has achieved, if they really and truly believe in themselves and are not afraid to work hard. It is a scary time thinking she is gone and we are left to wonder if anybody, anywhere, can fill this void that.............. awww I can't keep going with this tripe.

LOL. Classic. You really had me going there for a minute, until I broke out in great big, gut-busting laughter.

You had me going there, too. Well-played. :D On a more serious note, though, I think the early favourite would be Adriana Lima, who's been receiving a heavy push in the past year or so and would be my bet as the heiress apparent to Tyra.

well yeah. and the fact that she's fuckin SMOKIN...about like 80,000 times more attractive than the slightly-freakish-looking Tyra and I think it's almost a no-brainer Izulde.

Well, she has the right look and talent to be the headliner, I think, and she's got a very strong cult following already, so it's all fitting in, when added in with everything else.
In fact, I'm trying to think of who else would be a strong candidate. Not thinking of anyone off the top of my head.

Did she do that move where she walks down to the end of the stage, and then pivots and walks back? I heard she mastered that move at Yale.
That kind of talent cannot be taught, it is God given, unlike her breast.

and by cult following you mean "legions of horny pimpled teenage boys who whack off to her pictures?"

Funny that you mention that, smart-assed though your comment is. :D
One of the things Tyra is most noted for is the pizzazz and personality she brought to the runway. She gave life and emotion to fashion shows in a way that few other models before her or since her have done.

I agree Izulde. What was it, Stockholm in 96 where she just was unstoppable? No one walked straight forward and then turned around and went back. That was pure patented Tyra. I thought I would lose it when she did that. She just has taken the sport to another level. My friends were over at the house that show, and we were just mentally drained afterwards. We literallly couldn't talk. We knew we saw something special. Once in a generation someone so above the others in the game shows up and just raises the bar to another level. Damn proud right now to have seen the last show. This will be a night I tell the grandkids about.

And on a different note, I heard that a Houston station pushed the showing of the fashion show back to like 1am so that it wouldn't corrupt the mind of good little children across the city...

what do you think of Marc Jacobs' 2006 Spring Collection? isn't it so blatantly 1998 Donna Karan that she unveiled at the historic 1998 NYC Fashion Week? what a hack. next thing you know he's gonna come out with gold handbags with faux leopard peacoats. I liked him better when he called himself Gianni Versace.

here is one helluva model from the Victoria's Secret Show. notice the inviting "come hither" look, the coy tilt of the head, the short shorts showing just a hint of the goodies to be had, mother mercy...

Thank you for responding, HA.
I am a nice guy, like to think I've been a model citizen on this board for several years, etc., and would never intentionally do or say something that I know would hurt or embarrass someone either on this board or in real life. And Izulde seems like a well-meaning, nice guy who isn't asking for it. But so far, you've been my "id," and if I can't live vicariously through your responses, I'm afraid the build up is going to either kill me or result in a post or series of posts that I will regret about 12 seconds after they happen.
So, for the sake of my continued existence on this board, I thank you for your contributions.

Ksyrup - I feel your pain. There have been plenty of posts that I have erased before submitting in Izulde's threads for the same reasons. It's been very hard to keep from jumping into the fray because it's just so damn tempting sometimes.
It is therefore my conclusion that Izulde is really Satan.

i have two theories on Izulde:
1. he's doing this on purpose. rather than be a faceless anonymous poster, he's content to fill some sort of twisted nerdy homosexual-in-denial niche, cuz, hey, at least he has a gimmick, right?
2. he's of the highest form of mega-nerd that he himself is unaware of his nerdishness. his nerd quotient is so high that he is the rare nerd who doesn't even know he's a nerd. at least normal nerds know they're nerds so they stick to their nerd circles and don't try to venture to the cool section. unawares, he really has no clue about the extent of his nerdiness. a rare find. those are the kind that you keep around and pretend you want them around for their company, but you make fun of them for your general amusement.
honestly, i like Izulde. i've laughed a lot cuz of him, especially from all the posts that i wrote and decided to delete cuz it wasn't worth getting boxed for. i fondly recall all the times i would be giggling over my keyboard writing something and going with a more "PG-13" version. ahhhhh, Izulde, you have to hang out with me sometime. i would enjoy your company.
