Just wondering if anyone has purchased online auction software to create your own auction. If so, please identify the application purhcased and your opinion of the software.

I am looking to purchase an application which will allow me to build a professional looking auction site, but does not require much programming knowledge.

Any feedback would be great.

Define what you are looking to do. Create your own Auction site like ebay/overstock/yahoo auctions, or create better looking auctions and/or ease of use of listing your auctions.

I am looking to create an auction site like overstock (but on a much smaller level)

I'm not sure to what quality you're looking for, but if you want to 'build' your own, go to the library and check out Beginning Active Server Pages 3.0 (http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTitle/productCd-0764543636.html), and read chapter 15. They even will give you the .asp code for it here (http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTitle/productCd-0764543636.html).

This is what I used when I created FOBLWare many fake seasons ago (and if I can manipulate it to do the thing the FOBL needed it to do, anyone can).

eBay has a free program called Turbolister which makes listing on eBay a breeze. I don't see any reason to pay for auction software.

Thanks for the feedback.

I actually am looking to start my own mini Ebay for a market which is currently not served by Ebay. Don't really want to divuldge more information than at this point because if I never put it together, I don't want to seem like a fool. Nor do I want people asking about the release date
