That damn flirting getting in the way again...

I would stop, but I know it makes you (and all the other men here) happy - so I look at it as my civic duty...call it my ongoing random act of kindness :)

The Seinfeld writer upon whose family Festivus was based was on NPR this morning. He has a new book out about it.

A couple of things I found interesting:
-In his family Festivus was a floating holiday. He and his brother could come home from school any time between October and May and the Festivus decorations could be out.
-There was no metal pole, but rather Festivus was symbolized by a clock and a bag, the significance of which he still does not know.
-His dad sounds interesting to say the least. On their family vacations, they wouldn't be allowed to speak English, but would be assigned some other language for the trip. The father would hide and spy on them to make sure they weren't cheating.

Larry David? No, his last name was O'Keefe.

Dan O'Keefe, per the wiki article.

Edit: Sorry my daughter apparently likes the happy faces. This is her happy Festivus greeting to FOFC. Her grievance is that I don't let her type while I'm watching.

Yes, the smilies. It is all my daughter cares about to when she happens to come up to me when I am on the board. She actually likes to have a discussion about eac one and what it is doing.

Happy Festivus all.

Sure he was...he had a decent number of appearances. He was "the man in the cape," the guy at the newsstand who told George he didn't accept bills with lipstick on the president, plus there was the large amount of voices he provided.

You are correct, my bad. Now that my memory has been shaken up some I do remember he was Steinbrenner in the show.

I'm pretty sure someone else actually played Steinbrenner, and LD just provided the voice. But someone can correct me on that if I'm wrong.
