Did anyone inform Iowa that they had a bowl game today?

Crazy call by Urban Meier. Faking the punt on 4th and 1 from his own 20 yard line, up by 10 points, with under 5 minutes to go.
They got it... but, yikes was that risky.

Looks like another game where the refs will make the difference. Ok, it is official now these guys have their heads farther up their asses than the refs at the Nebraska game. Just piss poor

Jeez. Iowa nearly comes back to have a chance but they were off sides when they recovered the onside kick on a VERY QUESTIONABLE OFFISDES CALL.
These refs have absolutely been screwing the Iowa team alllllll day. From the first quarter right to the end. I didn't watch most of the middle part of the game, but jesus. C'mon, don't make it so obvious that you're trying to help Florida.
There was a call in the first quarter when Iowa caught it, he was about four yards from being out of bounds and got pushed out while he was in the air, incomplete when it was so obvious he would have been inbounds for the catch.
There have been a number of other calls I've seen when I've barely watched the game. Unreal. lmao.

Spielman missed that call - in college you have to come down inbounds regardless of whether or not the receiver was pushed out.
Iowa was hosed all day long by these refs though. What a terrible offsides call in that situation. Wow.

Credit to the Gators for winning the game, but the refs were absolutely oblivious to what was going on on the field. From brutal completely missed calls to brutal made calls to brutal ball spots, this officiating was absolutely pathetic. Worst I've seen in a long, long time.

That offsides call was terrible. I was getting all ready for a nice exciting finish to the game and they come out with that stupid call to ruin a perfect onside kick.

Well here's one you may have missed, Florida gets a 3rd and one earlier in the game they run and the RB's helmet does't get to the first down but the ball cradled in his stomach is spotted 2 feet past the fist down marker.
I understand that calls will be missed but Christ, call after call after call and all going one way. Why even play the games?
The Gators are cheaters. Fuck them.

This from the "cleanest-run" team in the NCAA...give me a break. http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
I don't know what conference officiating crew was running the game, but there were a lot of questionable calls. But to blame the poor officiating on the Gators is just ignorant. Blame the officials, don't blame a team.

Ferentz put it best in the postgame press conference addressing a question about the officiating with one word, "Consistent", knowing full well that everyone knew what he meant.

I was working an missed this game. It couldn't of been as bad as the Sun Belt's refs in the UM/Nebraska game. Could it?

Oh my gawd I can not believe we have a jean pants wear mullet head on this board. Well you know what the difference between me and you is I actually know that Florida State has bended the rules a few times. You refuse to admit that you guys are cheating big time. I wonder how you got Percy Harvin... hmm I am seeing wait hold on yes alot of money through your silent boosters. So how much have you been offering Carl Johnson? Doc Holiday has to have about 30,000 left in his budget...

This post is spot on.
Ive watched over 20 bowl games this year and not seen the likes of what happened in this game. Iowa was playing 11 on 15 the whole time. Phantom WR intentional facemask calls, continuous piss poor spots, and once I even saw the umpire step backwards into an open Iowa receiver on a red zone third down play. The offsides call in the end was just icing on the cake. Sadly, Iowa never had a chance in the game. Unreal.

You know, losing a close game like that does not piss me off, what does piss me off is when the refs cause my team to lose. If the refs are going to call an awful game, at least make it consistently bad for both sides. I will say this though, I'm very proud that we did not give up when we went down 31-7.

Wow...just wow. Obviously, enlightened conversation escapes Noop. Do you have any hard proof of your allegations? If not, then shut it.
We were talking about the officiating of this game, not past transgressions (I remember the probation in the 80's after Charlie Pell/Galen Hall...we paid a greater price than all but SMU, in my opinion). The officiating in the Iowa game was poor. If the officiating went against the Gators and the Gators lost, I sure as hell wouldn't be blaming the other team...

Iowa wins the "we got screwed the worst" award from the refs for the bowl season.
Sorry, Michigan, you just got edged out.
