I do like the new NFL Network commercial.

"Drew Rosenhaus...man, I wish that guy was my agent."

"Yeah, that guy is money."

"Hey, check this out, I just wrote this."

The sad thing is that I saw that commercial and thought to myself "if that were just a little less dumb, people would love it" and I'm almost certain that's a true statement.

There are many BAD BAD commercials, but the trick is to attract the watcher.

Seems to do the trick. Does it convince me to buy that shit? nope.

Pepsi is well known for making terrible commercials. So much so that I'm astonished that I'll still consider drinking the stuff.

The dumbest commercial I've seen was during the XXXVIII - Denver vs. Atlanta. The only thing I remember was a guys sniffing a dog's ass. I can't remember who the company was, but Antmeister and I looked at each other like... WTF is this crap? It was embarassing to watch.

The Patriots Draft Diet Pepsi Machine. Then the fans start chanting machine, machine, machine... Then a player talks about how he thinks the coach lost his mind. Then the Pepsi Machine catches a ball inside of its soda dispenser. Another player bumps the machine in congrats. Then some dork from Pepsi goes, I used to fill that machine.

Worst commerical ever, but the funny thing is. I know the whole thing.

Those new beer commercials where the guy is like some sort of daredevil are freaking stupid. Particularly the one where he cannot glance over at a table of hot chicks while having lunch with his girlfriend. (A) Did you see his girlfriend? Why would he need to look at that other table? (B) Have you seen him? No way in hell he has that hot of a girlfriend.

Terrible commercial. I might have put more thought into why I hate the commercial than the makers of the commecial did in putting together that ad campaign, though. Just a guess.

I think the worst commercial currently is for Ampd Wireless (I think). A guy is laying on the ground, having a seizure/stroke, and his Japanese maid is standing over him, giving him shit for dying because he won't be able to use their service. Awful.

I have a strange feeling that conversation has gone on in many households across the nation. Quite funny how we challenge the validity of the commercial situation and subsequently place negative connotations on the product because of it. Why does the spot have to be realistic? Why is he wearing goggles and a helmet? How did he acquire the hot gf? So many questions, so little time to ponder.

That said, theres cold Bud Lights in my fridge right now.

"Oh Baby, Baby.. oh BABY BABY, Get on this"

Yeah, seriously thats the gayest commercial ever. Literally. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but if your a guy trying to dance like a girl, you're gay. If they were break dancing or something more funny and less girly, it would be great.

On the one hand, there have been dozens of dumb commercials this year.

On the other hand, we got the greatest ad of all time: "Your honor, the man's legal name is Flava Flav!"

(Yeah, boyee!)

I heard a rumor that Diet Pepsi Machine and Cindy Crawford use to be a couple back in 1991, but it didn't last. They got back together again a few years ago. However, when that relationship went sour again, the Machine had some sort of breakdown. (Improper maintenance?) And, after hiring a new agent decided to enter the draft.

That's the thought that ran though my mind. His girlfriend was clearly too hot for him. Also, wouldn't she notice the goggles, helmet, and white jumpsuit? Or maybe he always dresses that way. I need some backstory.

I have no idea what the goggleboy commericals are about, because I have to turn away every time they come on.

Which brings me to my biggest pet peeve about television these days: vomit cam.

We have all this wonderful technology available, like tripods and sophisticated camera trucks. Why are so many directors deciding to abandon it and go with cameras hand-held by people suffering from Parkinsons Disease?

Is there some sort of Michael J. Fox-led Parkinsons advocacy foundation I don't know about? Are they targetting the camera-holders union? Enough already.

I understand movie theaters had to warn people, when Blair Witch Project came out, that if they began to feel like throwing up, to get out of the theater immediately and get a full refund. About 20% of the population gets motion sickness from vomit cam.

So why turn off 20% of your potential audience? There are entire shows I can't watch, like Arrested Development (oh, wait, that's gone now) and that Lisa Kudrow show on HBO. Shows I'd probably be interested in watching.

There's one commercial lately that's so bad I have to concentrate on looking away - something about a meteor and a truck. I should try and figure out whose commercial that is because I want to make sure I never buy anything from that company.

The problem is, we know the backstory, and it doesn't work, rendering the entire thing useless. I know it's supposed to be over the top, it's a 30 second ad that isn't intended to be reality-based, etc. Save it. The guy is an ugly lard with a hot girlfriend, and he's supposed to be testing his endurance by not looking at a table full of other hot chicks for 2 minutes? Puh-lease. If this was even in the universe of reality, his girlfriend wouldn't be caught outside with him - expecially wearing goggles and a white jump suit. He's like a combination of Ricky from Better Off Dead and Super Dave. Yep, hot chicks dig fat weirdos.

(A) Yes, I saw his girlfriend. No matter who my girlfriend is, I'd still look over at the other table. No laws against looking.

(B) Yes, I've seen him. I'm guessing chicks love daredevils.

Why is he wearing goggles and a helmet?
I would guess for safety reasons.

I love the 2 minutes past 5...on a FRIDAY commercial. He's sitting there in his goggles and helmet sweating. That one just cracks me up. "Put that on my appraisal!" (or something like that)
