To have a coach with Solid leadership. It's been so long since I've had one that I plum forgot. I just played a game Normal with satisified TS and I still have satisfied TS one day later. Maybe I shouldn't have tried to squeeze every last drop out of my last coach. :)

I'm sitting now with an inadequate. I'm hoping my future coach gets another pop in experience before I finally do the deed, which will likely be at the start of next season.

My last coach was at weak when I fired him. Under him, I couldn't even get my team to POE or hold WOTC. It made things difficult when I'd try to PIC games before an important qualifier, but now . . .

I have a wretched right now. I jest demoted to V, and should win my series, so I am waiting to convert my solid/passable until next season so he lasts longer. plus the moer I play him the cheaper he'll be.

I've never owned a coach with better than poor leadership though, so I dont really know what it's like to play with good TS!

I got an excellent coach, so I'm gonna squeeze it all out of him.

FWIW, I would, too.

I thought you weren't supposed to get a coach with solid LS because it interfered with your clown or something... I recall people saying to buy a passable EXP and passable LS, play until EXP hits solid, then make him a coach. I can't remember the details, it was a long time ago, but I could have sworn someone said never get a to-be-coach with solid EXP, always get passable...

Well, if the solid leadership guy also happens to be popular, it certainly wouldn't be a problem. ;)

Seriously it depends on how much effect you think your clown has. Also, if you don't have a clown, then it really doesn't matter too much. I personally follow the advice you're talking about, but to get a solid leadsership coach may be worth the season or so spent without the service of your clown.

Thats true. I guess when I first asked the question, the only responses I got were "Just get passable LS!" so I didn't even second guess it. Your explanation makes perfect sense as well.

I think it's a bigger issue if your Solid leadership coach is an ass. However, if you have middle ratings or higher, I don't think that clown effect will lose too much. Here's the stats on my coach:

A solid (http://www45.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=skillshort&ll=7#skillshort) trainer who is defence-minded
A pleasant guy (http://www45.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=gentleness&ll=2#gentleness) who is balanced (http://www45.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=aggressiveness&ll=2#aggressiveness) and honest (http://www45.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=honesty&ll=2#honesty).
Has formidable (http://www45.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=skill&ll=9#skill) experience and solid (http://www45.hattrick.org/Common/gameRules.asp?find=labels&lt=skillshort&ll=7#skillshort) leadership abilities.

When I bought him he was a midfielder that was inadequate experience and solid leadership. I played him until he got some good experience, then finally changed him to coach this season.

Do I have a clown? Yes.
Do I believe in the clowns? No, but I did when I bought him.
Why do I still have him? Good question, I dunno. He's a good backup forward and winger. Maybe I should go ahead and sell him.
