Looks like you are right. Usually my sources are much more realiable than this. Lets hope the other 33 are correct.

I have some major doubts about the claim of DaVinci drawing with one hand and writing with the other at the same time - I just don't think that's possible given how the brain works, unless they mean that he was writing with his dominant hand and doodling nonsense with his off-hand, which anyone can do.

Eaglesfan27

The only way i could see DaVanci being able to do that is if he had a significant problem with his corpus collosum which connects the 2 halves of the brain.

Given the other effects of a damaged or split corpus collosum, I can't imagine that this was something that afflicted DaVinci.

Out of 34, the usual over/under would be about 10 phony/dubious "facts."

I'll take 27, 29 (second part) and 32 as good candidates for the list.

I'd put 11 on the list as well. Over the holiday's my parents basset hound engulfed a poorly protected Whitman's Sampler and was none the worse for it.

I knew the celery was true, but was also dubious about the apples part.

apparently, they actually are, according to a couple sources

It's well-documented that chocolate can kill a dog, but I doubt the specific claim that a few ounces will kill a small dog is correct. It's probably more technically correct to say that it can kill a small dog, as I bet it's happened to someone's dog.

I completely agree. It was more of a statement agreeing with your statement that the stated "fact" is very likely false.

I take issue with that one. If they mean worldwide, sure. In the US, no way. Babies, moms and dads are barcoded right as the baby comes out of the chute. You cannot get out of the hospital with a newborn without wearing the same barcode. I think this may have been true at one point, but not these days.

Just about everything attributed to Carlin on the web is not his. Unlike most of those, this one actually fits his style of humor. But I think I can say with pretty close to absolute certainty that if he said it, he didn't say "fanny".
