The U.S. embassy in Indonesia is the latest in a series of violent attacks by Muslims in response to the caricature of Muhammad (peace be upon him).

I don't buy it. That be like me crediting seeing Brokeback Mountain as making me not want to be gay. I don't like guys, so I'm not gay. Does seeing a movie where guys kiss make me uncomfortable? Yes, but that doesn't make me want to be any more gay.

In other words, the cartoons weren't a reason, they were just a nice reason to play for the for sympathy in the Muslim world.
