:D It has a name like "Ross' iPod" or whatever. I want to change the name. It's a minor annoyance, but I'm sick of seeing my brothers name on my iPod.

Ask Steve Jobs

I'm sorry, but I'm going to need this in the form of a question.

I think you can go into iTunes and 'right click' on your iPod name and rename.

Yep. Or: click on your iPod, press F2 and rename it.

What the hell made ipods so damn popular?Ease of use, and probably how good the iTunes software is. I use iTunes at home to manage my music (over 16,000 songs) and I think it's outstanding software.

I own a creative labs MP3 player (60 gig), but if/when it ever quits on me, I will certainly buy an ipod. Being able to easily sync up your collection, easily transfer playlists, etc are huge pluses.

Well, actually the real answer is marketing. Apple has been relentless in marketing the iPod and downloads through iTunes. I think like the early days of AOL, most people are obvlious to the fact that there are actual alternatives.

Ok, I'll say what I was going to say to Julio here...

Julio - do you know anything about an iPod? Your post makes me think you don't. You stated that it is overcomplicated?! All you do is load up iTunes, plug your iPod in, and you're done. The interface of the iPod itself is VERY simple and considered to be top of the line. As for space, you said you get 1gb for $90. You can get 30 gigs for $300. Not sure where the price comparison fits.

Anyway. I think you need to actually use and experience an iPod, as your statements do not fit the iPod at ALL.

Sorry bout that Wade.. figured I would actually get a better response if I put it in a new topic.

Your message is duely noted, however, and I am open to reconsidering my thoughts toward Ipods, but I will probably never mess with an Ipod Shuffle ever again.

I pasted my reply in the other thread too ;)...

FWIW, I think if you're talking iPod Shuffle it's a totally different beast than an iPod that actually has a display, etc.
