Favorite Monty Python Flying Circus Cast Member

I concur. I love John Cleese too, but if I had to pick one, Palin wins by a nose.

Tough call. I guess I'll go with John Cleese, just because he portrays many of my all-time favorite characters (Ministry of Silly Walks, French soldier in "Holy Grail"), and he narrates a number of my favorite sketches (How Not to Be Seen, Upper Class Twit of the Year).

Does anyone else lament the possibility that we won't see another collection of comedy genious like the Flying Circus in our lifetime? These guys defined absurdist humor IMO, and I'm not sure they'll be topped.

Cleese was hilarious, I loved his Lancelot, Idle was also funny as Sir Robin and was good in the Rutles, I also loved the Spanish Inquisition...that's why I got it all on DVD!!!

They had an American in the group so I'm sure we can vote on it...I think it was peculiar even to British viewers, I think I recall that the premier episode worried everyone because no one thought that anyone would understand what was going on...I still think that Monty Python was brilliant, I just wish that SNL had learned to cut from one skit to another rather than a skit live on and drag on and on and on...

I've heard that too - you know that black and white clip with the old ladies applauding? That was their first studio audience, since they called themselves a "Circus", the BBC invited old people and children believing that it was like a circus show with elephants, acrobats and clowns...

Here's the thing: If I had to choose my favorite actor in Python from Python it would be Idle by a nose. My favorite actor from Python would be Cleese for all the other unebelievable work he has done. However, my Favorite Cast Member would have to be Terry Gilliam because of his directing. Seeing as I have no clue which of those answers the poll was looking for I have not voted.
