MMQB fans among us may enjoy the following, penned in 1980. Apparently, Easterbrook's missive so rankled NASA that the agency drafted a rebuttal. I haven't been able to locate that document.

It occurs to me that MMQB should read TMQB. I'm sure few were confused for long. As the kids say, "My bad."

I still don't get what TMQB stands for, either.

Someday, when you're old enough, perhaps I will fill you in.
Seriously, though, TMQ stands for "Tuesday Morning Quarterback," a weekly feature in the "Page 2" area of ESPN's website. The column, penned by the tastfully named Gregg Easterbrook, features a wry take on the NFL and other assorted topics of vital national interest, like cheerbabes and factual errors on Star Trek.

I really hope that we follow what he said more recently in Time (http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1101030210-418518,00.html) and stop the silly waste of money on the shuttle program. I am not sold on continuing a manned space program but if that is something that we as a society are going to do then we need to do a hell of a lot better job and it might mean waiting 10 or 20 or 5 years until we can get up there and do it right.
