I have some PC games and I know there is a utility that you can load so that you don't have to have the disc in to play the game. I'm not sure what the program is called, or if it's illegal or whatever. I just would prefer to not have to keep swapping out discs if it's possible.

You don't even need that piece of software. Just go here first to see if they have a NO-CD patch for your game:
http://www.gamecopyworld.com/

If they don't have the game you are looking for here, check out my site and check under Game Resources. This is what you may be looking for and it should be the on second line under that category:

I think the software is called game jackal. As far as I know it's legal. You have to have the original CD to create a "profile" but after that you can play without having to find the CD by loading the "profile". I don't have the software, but have considered buying it in the past. CD checks are probably the most annoying type of protection games use to me. There has been many times when I wanted to play a game and after 5 minutes of looking for the CD, just gave up and loaded up something else.

Ditto. Until I can lock away my computer in a room where no kids can get into, I'd prefer to not have to rely on keeping track of a disc in order to play a game.

Wow, I searched that gamecopyworld site for an old game called "Sword of the Samurai" and what's the first thing that comes up? Front Office Football -- The College Years. Too bad you don't even need the CD to play that, suckaz!
