Wow. That looks amazing. I have really enjoyed all of the Spiderman movies to date, though, so take that for what it's worth.

i just thought it was an average trailer full of typical hollywood CGI special effects. all the trailers are starting to look and sound alike nowadays. keep in mind the first 2 spidermen movies i thought were average to begin with

I liked the first Spiderman movie, but I thought the 2nd was average. Some of the acting in particular I thought was very average right across the board.

The first one was ok. The second one was OUTSTANDING. I think it is the best superhero movie of all time up there with Superman 1 and XMen 2.

Well, the teaser does have Topher Grace in the black suit. He pulls off his mask and hisses "Parker ... ".
It wouldn't suprise me that some of the shots in the trailer of the black suited Spidey isn't actually Venom.

Well, this is a bit more of a teaser. Not a whole lot there.
However, looks cool so far and I've loved the first two.

I liked the 2nd better than the first, personally.
This has to be the earliest I have ever seen a trailer for a movie with actual film footage. I expected this to be a pure "teaser" and was stunned when so much footage was actually included.

I should add that while I liked the 1st Spiderman movie back when I saw it, I don't think I could sit through it again - much like X-Men 1.
I thought Spiderman 2 was average, but I could probably watch it again because I've only seen it once, and that was at the cinemas back when it came out.

It actually is entitled Teaser Trailer #1. And I'm glad that they actually didn't show Venom yet. I think it adds to the mystery of the movie, and in some way, I hope none of the trailers show Venom. I want to see him for the first time in the movie.

Eh... I don't put Batman Begins up there. It was good, yes, but also had a lot of downtime. Didn't grab me as much. And my best friend, who isn't into superhero movies but loved XMen 2, got really, really bored by Batman Begins.

I have a good friend who doesn't like it either. He and his wife refer to it as "Batman Begins... And Never Ends." I guess they too thought it dragged too much at places. I thought it was great. It had good themes and hit the tone just right.
It was a solid, well-made movie that really didn't have any "whince inducing" parts (Katie Holmes aside). X-Men 1 had quite a few and even X-Men 2 had some (though they were heavily out-wayed by the goodness). Both Spiderman movies also had their handful, though I do appreciate Sam Raimi's style, even if it's a bit over-the-top goofy at times. That first scene with Doc Ock where he kills all those doctors is classic Raimi, ripped right from the Evil Dead flicks. I loved it.
Still, at the end of the day, I don't think anything has yet to top Superman 2. Great action scenes (especially for the time). General Zod. An amazingly delightful Lex Luthor. I just love that movie.

It doesn't bother me that Spiderman's had some whince inducing parts. It's Raimi's style to not just have them, but embrace them.

I'm kind of wondering whether they will actually have Venom in this one, or if they will use the black suit as part of the movie, but save Venom for the next picture. That's what I'd prefer, otherwise you either rush through his use of the black suit too quickly or we only get Venom for half of the movie.

Looks like we have 3 villians. Sandman, Harry Osborne as a goblin of some sort and Venom.
At least Pete gets infected by Venom from the looks of it. This is going to be cool!

peter parker had the venom suit first, and the suit isn't a disease - it's an alien looking for someone to attach to.

Only thing is that I hope they don't cram too much into one movie and then be unable to resolve all the plot points. Sandman & Venom would have been good enough with Osborne's goblin in the far, far background waiting for another movie.

I don't think Venom and the Goblin stories get resolved in this one. I think they will continue to another movie. And one of my friends at work, who is way bigger into the superhero movies, has heard rumblings of a 4th villain.

Wiki states that the black suit is merely a prologue for Spiderman 4 which will be Venom. Spidey 3 is supposed to be just Osbourne and Sandman... interesting if they are spreading out the arcs in previous movies so completely.

Fans Get First Look at 'Spider-Man 3'
5,000 Fans Get Early Look at 'Spider-Man 3' at Comic-Con, Largest U.S. Comic Book Convention
By SANDY COHEN AP Entertainment Writer
SAN DIEGO Jul 23, 2006 (AP)— "Spider-Man 3" isn't due until next summer, but about 5,000 fans got an early look at the film Saturday at Comic-Con, the country's largest comic book convention.
Director Sam Raimi, producer Laura Ziskin and key members of the cast Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Topher Grace, Bryce Dallas Howard and Thomas Haden Church came to the San Diego Convention Center to answer fan questions and unveil never-before-seen, unfinished footage of the much-anticipated movie.
So is this the final installment of the franchise?
"There will be some conclusions, though I wouldn't say it's necessarily the end," said Maguire, whose words were nearly drowned out by thunderous applause. "We're going to leave it open-ended. If there are stories worth telling, then we'll tell them."
The brief teaser footage blended live-action scenes with animation and computer graphics. It showed Sandman, a new villain played by Church, and offered a quick glimpse of Venom (Grace), Peter Parker's spider-like nemesis.
"He's more of a doppelganger to Peter," Grace told the crowd. "It's kind of a case study in if someone very similar to Peter got the same powers but didn't have a good upbringing."
Raimi also revealed that Harry Osborn (James Franco) would become a third villain, taking on some of the powers of his father, the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), who was killed in the first "Spider-Man" film.
Actor Bruce Campbell, a Raimi-film regular, also makes an appearance in "Spider-Man 3," the director said. He'll play a new character, who fans believe will be the villain Mysterio.
As the director of all three "Spider-Man" films, Raimi has been immersed in Spidey's world for more than six years. A longtime fan of the comic books, Raimi said it's been a "super-dream" to make the movies, but also a "great responsibility to tell the story of this character that kids look up to as this great hero."
"Certainly you don't want to make anything that isn't worthy of their admiration," he said.
Based on early reaction at Comic-Con, Raimi has nothing to worry about. He delivered what fans wanted: Venom.
"It was way better than I expected because you got to see Venom. He looked awesome," said John McCracken, 22.
"He made the entire world happy by putting Venom in it," said Nora McGuirk, 26, manager of Beach Ball Comics in Anaheim, Calif. "Sam Raimi hasn't disappointed us yet."
Chastity Vicencio, 20, said it was even more exciting to see Spider-Man face his own demons.
"Superheroes are cool and all, but when they hit a dark side, that's really great," she said.
Spider-Man creator Stan Lee has his own ideas of what makes the movie a winner.
"I have a cameo in it, and I think it's my best cameo," said the 83-year-old Marvel Comics master. "That's probably the high point of the movie. After that, you know, it's all a letdown."

Spiderman 2 has been the best superhero movie in my opinion. Spiderman 1 was pretty good, but it was also a lot shallower than 2 and didn't engross me as much as the second one did.

He was in the trailer, he'll be Eddie Brock, who may have something to do with that black suit Spidey is wearing at some point.
Yeah, I saw him, but I thought he was to play the Villain "Venom"?

The symbiote (suit) was introduced in Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #8. Peter's suit had gotten ripped up in a battle with Titania and he found a machine that he thought Thor had used to recreate his helmet and cape. Instead he found a machine that created a black ooze that coated his body and gave him webshooters within the costume. The symbiote could assume other forms, like a shirt and shorts, or it could create an opening for his mouth to eat.
I would have to guess that between the Hobgoblin and Sandman, Venom will wait until another movie. There's just too much in there already from what I see from the trailer. The symbiote suit looks like it will be separated from Peter ala Web of Spider-Man #1.
Venom came about when the symbiote found Eddie Brock who was going to commit suicide because of Spider-Man. The symbiote, who wanted to bond permanently with Peter, bonded instead with Eddie...making Venom. This is from Amazing Spider-Man #300 I believe. Venom didn't trigger Peter's Spider-Sense.
I'm not as familiar with the Ultimate Version of Venom or the symbiote, but I believe Peter and Eddie's father created the symbiote in that universe.

I never thought that the trailer would make me excited and disappoint at the same time. I think the trailer is very good, just wish I we could have gotten a glimpse of Venom. Venom will be in the movie, they showed a bit of him at the comic-con, and there is a teaser poster posted online of Topher Grace turning into Venom. Maybe when the next trailer hits on Ghost Rider instead.

A little more Venom in this one, but still not too much.
Nice. You get to see about two seconds of the actual Venom character....all the way at the end, but good find. The whole trailer was like a rough draft, of the one that was just released except for the last few seconds of Venom.
