I hate hand washing dishes all the time, it's a pretty major source of animosity around the house. My daughter isn't old enough to do it yet either. Well I just rented a new duplex, and like our current place, it doesn't have a dishwasher.

I checked online and noticed a couple smaller portables, both under 200 bucks. Just wondered if anyone had either of these models.

They do have a few more slightly larger models, but they start to go much closer to 300 dollars.
I know both are for the rough size of 4 place settings, I plan on looking at in the store before i get either. Supposedly the Danby is rated a bit better.

Can you get a full size one? We have one that ran about $400, and has worked fine for over a year now. It's the same size as a built-in, only it's on wheels, so can sort of double as an island as well with a wood-like countertop. If you have the space, I highly recommend a full size portable one.

No help here. I didn't even know they made tabletop-type dishwashers, just the portable ones. I bought my mom one of the Frigidaire models a couple of years ago and she loves it, but it was about $350.

Of course, what will you do if your neighbors complain about low water pressure or just get jealous when they see the box?

Supposedly only uses a total of 1.5 gallons for the whole cycle. I'm hoping that I won't be in this new place for longer than 2 years, hopefully by then I will have a house. Don't really want the large full size model, as the kitchen is pretty small.

Just posting to point out my admiration of the "I hate doing it...too bad my daughter isn't old enough to do it for me" logic.

What other reason is there to have kids :)

Boys mow the grass when they are old enough, the girls wash the dishes.

She tries to help wash, but she ends up getting water all over the place. I try to use some paper plates to help cut down on the amount of dishes i have to wash.
