So I decided to play a random yahoo fantasy football league. I didn't make it into the FOFC one. We just had the draft tonight and I wanted to get some feedback on how I did. We're playing on yahoo with 15 players and the standard rules on yahoo. I picked 8th out of 10 teams with a serpentine draft. This is only my 2nd fantasy football team ever, so it's a learning experience. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I really tried to stock RB's and WR's so I can play whoever's having the better season/playing the weakest defense. I think I got a good deal with Trent Green. I read that I was s'posed to wait to draft QB's, but Green in the 7th seemed like a good deal. I think maybe 6-7 QB's were already drafted at the time. Brees could have a decent year if the O-line and WR's don't suck. I think I drafted Reggie Bush too high. Yeah, I did. Oops. I did get Jamal Lewis as a solid 3rd RB (even though we only start two). I waited to the end on my TE/DEF/K because I thought that's what I was supposed to do. I remember picking a DEF & K way higher before. Maybe I shoulda picked a K next to last, then I coulda got Graham from Cincy or Elam from DEN. I figure OAK will have lotsa FG attempts this year, based on their..."offense."

So yeah, any thoughts from anyone on my draft? I posted a poll system for some reason. Any feedback or thought processes for drafting and starting players this season would be appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

That scoring system is favoring touchdowns pretty heavily. QBs need to throw 300 yards to overcome throwing 1 touchdown less, while RBs need to run 120 yards to overcome scoring 1 touchdown less. So, in the end, it's all about touchdowns and you don't even have to worry about yardage, much.

Ahman Green and Jamal Lewis haven't been very reliable last season, so I would put an asterix to both as being a starter. Especially Lewis with Mike Anderson on the team. Reggie Bush as a rookie is a risk/reward pick. So, basically, you did indeed end up with three guys who you have to evaluate every week on who to start.

With Chad Johnson, Hines Ward and Rod Smith, I think you did well at wide receiver, you should have a small advantage over most teams at that position. Eddie Kennison and Keenan McCardell can be good depth for bye weeks or favorable matchups, although McCardell has a questionmark as being tied to Phillip Rivers.

I really like the Rudi & Chad Johnson combo, almost any touchdown the Bengals score will give you points now. This probably gives you a guarantee of a touchdown every week, two if the Bengals have a favorable matchup.

Thanks for the input. I guess I really didn't have much time to analyze the scoring system pre-draft (my mistake). Green is my 4th RB on the depth chart, so he probably won't start much.

I forgot Mike Anderson went to BAL...oops. That makes the Lewis pick seem questionable at best. McNair could make that team have a viable passing game, but that doesn't matter if Lewis is even semi-splitting time with Anderson.

I think I'll keep an eye on the waiver wire the first few weeks and maybe pick up a RB if one gets hot/comes out of nowhere. Mike Bell may be a good choice ;) If I pick up another RB I'll probably drop Green.

It's a ten team league and four make the playoffs, and that's just what I'm shooting for. Even a .500 record would be a victory to me. We'll see what happens. Glad I got 2 Bungles so cheering for the team will have a double impact for me.

Thanks for the advice dude :)
