I've not seen anybody post about this, which is quite frankly the most disturbing news story I have heard in a long time, and I include many of the 'terror' stories in that (whether I have become numbed to the War on Terro is another matter, but this is just horrible)
A few years ago I read a book by John Fowles (he of 'The Magus') called The Collector, which was basically the same story, and I felt that that book was one of the most harrowing I had ever read: however that was a work of fiction - this really happened, and I can't even begin to imagine what the victim, the family, or for that matter the family of the guy that took the girl, must have/are going through.
I have been surprised how this, and (for completely different reasons) the Steve Irwin death, has affected me and my faith in humanity, which is generally pretty strong.
