Is winning a National Championship the hardest to accomplish in sports video gaming?

I mean, I've won many other titles - a few:

World Series - ootp, MVP, Puresim, BM, FPS Baseball 96
Super Bowl - Tecmo Bowl (many times), FPS Football 97, Madden 99-04, FOF
Stanley Cup - NHL 94-98

etc...etc..

BUT, my question is.. what is the hardest Championship you have yet to attain?

Mine would be college ANYTHING. Whether it's FBCB, TCB, NCAA BB, BBCF, NCAA FB, or TCY - I have never won a Championship with Missouri or even been to the title game for that matter.

I am formerly from Missouri, and I married a lady from KC, so I feel like I can impart this to you. :)

Dude it is Missouri. Football? You can't expect ANYthing from Columbia to be a world beater. They have trouble with Kansas and KState almost every year.

I stopped playing Mizzou and tried a REALLY hard team, like Indiana, Ball State, or Boise State. (DID anyone see that Boise State kicked the crap out of Oregon State this week?)

{Pulls Todd aside}

Pssssst, Todd. The best college basketball team is the best of 300+ teams, as opposed to the best football team being the best of 32. That goes a long way to making it harder, buddy.

You say that like Boise St. wasn't heavily favored in that game.

I'm hoping for big year from then, if only because my new house is about 5 blocks from that horrid blue turf.

Is it possible to read enough mixed pronouns to make your head explode. I think we need a flere diagram of this sentence.

I haven't been able to win one with TCY or FBCB.

The key to TCY is Academics. If you establish a strong academic reputation in the first few seasons, you'll get a ton of recruits coming your way, even for the crappiest schools. You should then have no problem eventually winning a championship.

I have not been able to win in FBCB yet.

I never win anything important in games mainly because how i like to play them. My fun comes from taking over the worst program/team and to raise it, once i have agood team i get bored and go again to a crap one. That way i never win national titles (i can win division or conferences) but i have lots of fun. Even in FM i usually take crap teams and have more fun trying to avoid to be releagated than trying to win a championship. Once i have a team with lots of money or prestige etc who can sign any player, the fun is over.

I think Skydog took Savannah State to a title in FBCB... maybe?

FBCB, I took my formerly mid-major Wright State team (now in the WAC) to the national championship as something like a #7 seed. We beat the 3 best teams in the country to make it there, but lost to the 4th best team ;) That's the closest I've ever been in that game.

Winning in FBCB is not impossible. I once won one with Hofstra.

It's a little out of your control, though. It's a matter of having the bracket break right and getting hot.

I've never played a big team in FBCB. But with a small team you can fully develop second or third-tier recruits who won't jump ship early for the pros. Also, you can pick up a true star from overseas to fill out your roster since you usually have enough guys of the same ability to gamble every few years on recruits.

Pro sims are fairly easy. Though, I only recently gained enough understanding of soccer to win some leagues in FM2006.

When I take over a bottom feeder in FBCB, I almost exclusively recruit foreign players. Even with the worst of teams and the lowest budgets you can get two-three recruits at the top 15 in their position. Keep this up and wait for your prestige and budget to increase.
