my girlfriend has ad aware but ever since she took kazaa off of her computer she has barely had a need for ad aware now. it used to find like 100 ads to delete over like a weeks time and now it only finds like 2. i dont really know why i am putting this in here just for kicks i guess. want to be part of the convo :)

just about every third site I visit grabs Gator and other things, and I find stuff almost daily to get rid of.

I seem to recall one of the tax software packages putting spyware on your computer. Does anyone know if ad aware would get rid of this (or am I making this whole thing up)?

I just read this somewhere over the weekend. Had to look it up to remember which one it was though. Sure enough, it's TurboTax

Thanks for the link, I downloaded it, tried it and, needless to say, it found a ton of ad stuff on my computer. Needless to say, its all gone now!

Your link even has an unistaller for it (if ad aware doesn't do the trick).

Does Ad Aware get rid of Spyware as well? I usually use Spybot Destroyer but I dont believe the free version has been updated recently.

Good call, Senator.

kd . . . Instead of using Kazaa, try using Kazaa Lite instead. It's the version where the spyware has been taken out.

Just wondering, where do you find Kazaa Lite?

Someone recommended it to me before but I couldn't find it.
