What does "D" mean on TV Ratings?

I believe it means "suggestive dialogue" implying that there is sexually oriented dialogue.

I don't think there is a "D" in the US ratings, although there is a sub-rating like PG-D for "D for suggestive dialogue (suggestive or explicit subject matter)"

However, in Mexico it means "D: designed to be viewed only by "open minded" adults, as it most certainly contains strong, scary violence, strong language and/or explicit sexual material."

In Australia, it's a sub-rating, like PG-D "D for Drug use and/or Drug references"

I was afraid (not sure that's the right word, but it's the one that keeps coming to mind) that it meant Drugs.

I'm watching Miami Ink, and if they were implying that it had drugs, I think I'd be very upset if I were Miami Ink. The suggestive dialog, though, fits.

Can they possibly come up with a more complicated, less intuitive ratings system?? Does anyone actually no what those ratings mean?

Why not use the same system as movies... G, PG, PG-13, R
