I like this idea, although I'm not sure I'd be too happy if I was travelling and planning to see either of the games that were moved.

NEW YORK -- The Chicago Bears' game against the New York Giants at the Meadowlands on Nov. 12 was switched Tuesday by the NFL from an afternoon to a night game, the first under the flexible scheduling format implemented in the new television contract.

The 8:30 p.m. ET game will be televised by NBC instead of Fox. Under the format, the Sunday night time slot had been left vacant, with CBS and Fox each allowed to protect five afternoon games over seven weeks of the season. Each has chosen four and will pick one more.

Chicago (6-0) is one of two unbeaten teams in the NFL and will be favored to be 8-0 when it goes to Giants Stadium. The Bears' next two games are at home against San Francisco (2-4) and Miami (1-6).

The Giants (4-2) have won three straight, including Monday night's 36-22 win in Dallas, and lead the NFC East. Their next two games are at home against Tampa Bay and Houston, both 2-4.

As part of the schedule shuffle, New Orleans' game at Pittsburgh will be moved from a 1 p.m. ET start to 4:15 on Fox.

Yeah that would really suck if you were traveling to see the game and had a late night flight on Sunday to get back home.

Well, it's not like this wasn't well known to anyone who would be buying tickets. Everywhere I've looked, that has a NFL schedule, has a notation that the games in those weeks might be moved. Especially the websites of the teams themselves.

I don't think the Raiders did.

Well, no one really buys Raider tickets anyway ;)

But, on their front page of the website, all the games that might be moved have an asterisk next to them and note (time subject to change due to NFL Flex scheduling)

How about those of us who have season tickets and hate night games because it's a 3 hour drive home?

It takes three hours to get out of the FedEx Field parking lot.

Your aware of the possibility a switch, aren't you?

I'm aware but it doesn't mean I have to be happy about it. It becomes nearly impossible to get rid of tickets for a night game, nobody wants them.

For the Redskins? I thought they are nearly impossible to get tickets for.

Giants. The hour that this news came out yesterday I had 4 other people ask me if I need any extras for this Bears game.

Night games are fun in theory, but I'm too old to be getting home at 3 AM after a long day of tailgaiting and then going to work. It screws up the entire week.
