I expect Amare Stoudemire to come back stronger than ever. From what I've seen during pre-season, he looks very solid, and full of energy.
New ball aside, I think Steve Nash will adjust and be in MVP form again this season. Raja, Boris, and Leandro will hopefully continue to improve, and The Matrix will continue to be consistent.

If all these things happen, then I think Phoenix has one of those special teams that don't come around very often.

Lets bring a championship to Phoenix!

Not a good start.

Amare won't be right for most of the year IMHO. He'll have some good stretches and then go through some horrible stretches. The knee still isn't 100%. If it was, he'd be on the floor more than 12 minutes. It's going to be a tough year for him.

The Suns should be Ok, but losing to the Lakers without Kobe is not what you'd call a solid start. There are about 12-15 teams in the NBA that will be running like the Suns this year. (it's a copycat league). They won't have the advantage of being the only run and gun team in town.

It'll be interesting to see how they adjust. One of the top four teams in the west for sure, but without Amare at 100% I see no way they get through three playoff series.

Amare is still hurting and is really day to day still on his rehab.

Diaw is out of shape and probally won't have his game legs under him until
a month in.

I'm not too worried about the Suns though 1 game out of 82. The Playoffs is when the real season begins.

Phoenix still won't be able to beat the Mavs or Spurs when it comes to Playoff time.

You wanna be depressed try being a Hawks fan living in Phoenix, or for that matter a Hawks fan living anywhere. I was laughed at on a daily basis during that whole JJ thing...

The sad thing is I still like the signing from the Hawks point of view. Who the hell knew Diaw would end up as good as he was? The lottery picks were protected.

If the Hawks had drafted Chris Paul and a solid player this year, they'd be a young up and coming team.

Instead they took a 3 year project player and reached badly this year on Williams and are one of those teams that has a lot of talent, but no freakin plan.

If Amare can stay healthy and regain his original form, combined with Kurt Thomas, I think they can get by the Spurs and Mavs. It will take some work though.
