Armed robbery hits 99 Cent Store on Sunday

LA QUINTA -- The 99 Cent Store was robbed Sunday about 1:30 a.m. by three armed men, who entered the story on Highway 111 while employees were cleaning. An employee, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, was ordered to open a safe at gunpoint. The suspects were described as male adults in their mid to late 20s, about 6 feet tall, with thin to medium builds. They were last seen wearing dark clothing and ski masks.

One employee, according to the news release, was assaulted during the robbery, suffering minor injuries.
