It's already being reported that she was joking around, and it seems like she is in fact joking, making lite of the Kayne West blowup from last week.

I don't buy it. She sure doesn't look like she was joking or she is a lot better actress than I thought.

I can't take that reaction as a joke, it seems way too serious.
some people don't believe that..
What makes this story still noteworthy however, is a third blonde country belter that's been thrown into the mix - Leann Rimes. Known for her big pop-country hits back in the '90s including a cover of Trisha Yearwood's How Do I Live, Rimes has apparently been a longtime friend of Hill, and came to her defense today.
Thinking she would somehow help out her friend, she posted this message to her official website, "Okay, I usually keep quiet on topics like this but I feel I need to stand up for my friend, Faith. She was just being honest and emotional like every other person sitting at home with an opinion. These awards shows are SO political and we all get fed up with them. We all work very hard and have for many years so to see someone come in and win Female Vocalist that has been here for a VERY short time, is a little disheartening."
She went on to say, "That is why we have the Horizon award and Carrie had an incredible year, enough to sweep that one. I don't think Faith was angry about her loss, she probably felt, as I did that Carrie has not paid her dues long enough to fully deserve that award. As artists and public figures, we have to keep our feelings so repressed so we don't get called ungrateful as Faith has on this board many times now. She is a very sweet and gracious woman, whom I adore. Please cut her some slack!"
She then obviously realized that would start the ball rolling again with the Faith bashing and retracted the posting, replacing it with this, "This post is going to become more controversial than it needs to be. I have enjoyed talking with you about our opinions but feel that this already is blown way out of proportion. I stand by Faith as my fellow artist and friend as an honest mistake was magnified. I also, as you know from previous post, respect Carrie and wish her well!"

Not related, but this was hilarious, and linked to that faith hill clip.

It looks like she's backstage or something, I can see maybe forgetting that the camera's on you when you're in the crowd, but in this case, the camera was directly in front of her, and there only for the purpose of getting her reaction. I've going to give her the benefit of the doubt on the joking thing.

What's the point of an award if you have to "pay your dues"? I always thought awards were about who was the best right now. I mean, this wasn't a Lifetime Achievement Award.
What the hell am I doing? I don't give a crap about this stuff. Mordern Contemporary-With-A-Twang sucks giant balls anyway. Awarding this garbage is like awarding the Glue-Eating Kindergartener of the Year.
By the way, what in the hell does the word Kindergartener mean? It sounds militant.

Idano... This just seems too obvious to be a mistake... it's not like it's a mistery that the camer is on you..

I absolutely love true country music, I just hate the garbage that presently calls itself country. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part, the current "country" scene is nothing more than adult contemperary that aims itself at people (generally white) that want something vanilla, faux-folksy, which has a certain beat, and pretty much requires no thought to listen to. It's a totally legit form of music, but to call it country is a travesty, in my opinion.
As I said, it's just my opinion, and opinions are (as we all know) like assholes -Everyone has one. Mine means nothing in the grand scheme of things , and I hope no one thinks I'm telling them that they are dumb or have bad taste just because they disagree with mine. I just hate bastardization of traditional genres.

Well, you came off, as many do, as someone who believes that I have bad taste for liking it and considering it country music.

I believe she just performed prior to that award.
I think the problem with Carrie, is she was the creation of American Idol and won the country award within a year. I wonder if that had a big decision. Some of her songs are pure pop sounding.

It's German. What do you expect it to sound like? If we wanted to send our children to a less-confrontational-sounding place, we'd name it after a French word. Something with lots of S's, and unpronounceable vowel sounds. And cheese.

That's it? I heard about a "blow up" from her and was hoping it involved clothes being torn off. Damn!!!
