I suspect this is a simple thing, and I am just missing something obvious - but a quick web search and lok at the help files stil has me wondering how to do this.

I have some lectures on CD that I am saving in iTunes. I want to put them into the "audiobooks" section of my library, but they are by default saving into the "Music" section instead. Is there any easy way to adjust this, so they save right into the audiobooks section? And how do I move the ones that have already saved in with music?

Thanks for any help...

Not sure you can. I think the Audiobooks section is for books bought from Itunes and it's partners such as audible.

Encode the files in AAC format, then simply rename the file extensions to .m4b and re-import them into itunes.

Thanks. Looks like I wasn't missing something obvious, then.

I guess the simpler way to do what I want is to put all my music into a gian playlist, and to listen to it from there (I use the album shuffle option, which otherwise would cause all this other stuff to randomly get seeded into my selections).

The easiest way to do that would be to make all your lectures the same category and create a smart playlist that is quite simply "Category is not _____"

Good call, thanks.
