Double checked, but I don't see any thread for this week, yet.

McNabb to Stallworth for an 84 yard TD! Of course, the Redskin's pass defense has been bad, but it is still nice to see the offense starting to connect on deep passes again.

No Ray Lewis and Tennessee is up 19-7 on the Ravens. Travis Henry has had 2 big runs.

Did Bo Scaife really have a 13 yard run for a TD in that game? That's what CBS SportsLine's gamecast says. How did that happen?

Cleveland up 14-0 over Atlanta, amazing what they can do when they face an already struggling pass defense that is now missing two of its top 5 DB's.

Clarified that for you ;)

Miami is playing great today vs the Chiefs, specially the defense.

WOWOW incredible play by Miami!!!

QB Harrington handoff to RB Brown, RB Brown runs, then stops, then pass back again to Harrington who throws a 46 pass to Chambers who caughts it at the Chiefs 1 yard line!

Eaglesfan27

Wow. Luck is good too. Buckhalter catches a pass that Brown bobbled and knocked up into the air. Buckhalter then runs about 50 yards untouched for a TD. 17-0 Eagles. :)

Vick, whose helmet had been knocked off by a Browns' player, sat on the field in disbelief while the home crowd booed him lustily.

After playing brilliantly in wins over Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, the mercurial Vick has cost the Falcons dearly with sloppy plays the last two weeks. He also had two interceptions and a fumble against Detroit, setting up a couple of touchdowns.

Today certainly wasn't pretty to watch.

Thing was, I thought he looked out of sorts well before the fumble. There were a couple of times when he had his helmet off that I thought he looked as though he would pretty much rather be anywhere else doing anything else than what he was doing. Now one of the times I noticed this was after he'd been knocked semi-goofy by a hit & I was (still am) tempted to attribute it to him being knocked around but there was just something that didn't seem quite right about him all day.

Just got back from the game. I blame this loss 100% on the GMen coaching staff. Not sure what they were saying, or what you can see on TV, but the Bears secondary had the Giants shut down all night. There was nothing at all open down at their end of the field, yet the Giants kept going there way. As usual, but even more so tonight, they didn't utilize Shockey as much as they should have, and didn't run the ball enough. After the 1 quarter it was obvious you weren't gonna burn the Bears deep, so they shoulda just dumped the ball off to Barber or Jacobs or throw it to Shockey acorss the middle for 5-7 yds, than run the ball and keep the clock moving all night.

And I too can't believe they fell for that little pause he did on that missed FG, it was so obvious what he was doing but they just gave up on it and let him go all the way.

I didn't read the whole thread, so forgive me if this was already brought up. Was there ever any mention (in the game or some other source) as to why Devery Henderson either didn't play or didn't figure into anything? From what I can see, Copper was the #2 guy today, and that is odd considering Horn is out and Henderson is coming off of a very solid week last week. He wasn't mentioned in any injury reports that I could find.

If you can tell, I picked him up to repalce Horn in my fantasy league and am a bit miffed at the unexplained disappearing act.

P.S. I won anyway, thank you, Chad Johnson.

Tigercat
11-13-2006, 01:01 AM
Henderson doesn't run good enough routes or do enough little things to start an entire(or even half) a game at SE or FL for Payton. I am a bit surprised too that he didn't at least get one ball his way, but Copper is more of the type of solid WR Payton wants out there for Brees. (Copper was very solid tonight before that last drive.)

Chief Rum
11-13-2006, 07:31 AM
Yeah, but I watched some of the game, and I didn't even see him. And something like eight players for the Saints caught balls this week. And he caught a TD pass last week and broke a 100 yards. And everyone and their mother said he was going to replace Horn this week (as he did last week).

Given all that, I'm just not buying that he was out there playing at all, and if all along he's been so crappy, how come he has been their #3 all year and was the guy they turned to last week to replace Horn? No, that doesn't quite fit.

My cable cut out, so I missed the Bears game, and I couldn't tell on the replay -- were the Giants literally walking off the field, toward their own sideline? I was curious if Hester chose to run that way because it was the Bears sideline (away from where all the Giants were going), or if it was just that they were kind of sluggish while heading over to him.

I hope the Colts lose soon. Like I need to hear about that 24/7 during the weeks leading up to that game...

As a Patriots fan, it pains me to say it, but I think I'm rooting for the Colts to go undefeated at this point. The Patriots have lost to Denver and Indy, and now a HORRIBLE loss to the Jets, so I'm not sure they have what it takes to go all the way (although they could surprise). I think Peyton has showed some toughness this season that's been lacking in the past, Dungy deserves a title, and I think we're looking at the best shot in a long time to SHUT THE '72 DOLPHINS UP! I think it would be sweet justice for the 16th win of the season to be over the Dolphins.

I think I read somewhere today that's what Hester said. That the Giants were not only walking off the field, but the guys that were running at him were running half speed, saying that if they had been coming full speed, he'd have downed it. Here's a YouTube clip of the return, can't really see guys walking toward the sideline, but you can definitely tell the first Giants that made it to Hester were already slowing down to a light job, if not a walk ...

I remember a game within the past couple of years in which LB Mark Simoneau kicked an extra point after David Akers got hurt, back when he played for the Eagles. After watching the Giants a little bit this season, I think that Jay Feely could seriously do a reversal of that and play linebacker in an emergency. The man has an uncanny ability to miss field goals when they're needed most, but he's tougher than a few of the defensive players I've seen in NFL.

I too would like to stop hearing about the 72 Dolphins each and every year, so yeah, if the Colts do get to the game undefeated and we have to hear about it non stop for weeks, they better win. I will hate the Colts forever if we have to put with up all the media insanity leading up to the game and then be forced to go through it again the next season.

All a Colts unbeaten season would do is trade the annoying '72 Dolphins for a larger group of obnoxious Colts fans. Plus it would not be a completely unbeaten season as they will lose in the playoffs anyway so the point would be moot and you would hear more from the '72 Dolphins about how they won all the way through to the Super Bowl.

If the Panthers lose to the Bucs tonight, I'm gonna cry.

EagleFan is correct. In the time period we live in, with media coverage everywhere and up-to-the-nanosecond updates, a Colts unbeaten season would be 1,000x more annoying than the '72 Dolphins.

ESPN would be slurping the Colts for the next decade if they were to somehow pull out a 16-0 regular season, regardless if they lose in the playoffs or not.

As a Panther fan, WE SUCK. we got lucky to win tonite, and I don't think there is any chance we make the playoffs, and if we do. We lose in the first round.

I wouldn't swan dive off a cliff just yet. We're tied with the Falcons and a game back of the Saints, both of whom have cooled considerably since the start of the season. We still need to win both those divisional return games, though. The NO game will be especially pivotal as that would lock up a season sweep and the tiebreaker with the Saints. Given the utter disarray in the NFC after Chicago (which I think is a couple of games clear of everyone), about the only teams effectively written out of the playoffs right now are Arizona, Detroit, and Tampa Bay (with Washington's hopes fading fast). Carolina's tied with Philly (yet to play), Dallas (lost), and Atlanta (lost, return pending). The next four weeks should sort it out as they play four straight rivals for a playoff bid (though, as noted, Washington is very loosely defined as such right now, even though they are just two games back in the Wild Card at the moment). Any win over the next four weeks will pay a lot of dividends in the form of tiebreakers. Winning a majority of those games should fairly well put them in the driver seat for a berth.
