You shouldn't have put trash in his coffee pot.

Beats the hell out of him putting trash in your coffee can.

Coffee.

Uh, his coffee is in my trash can. :p

That's where I normally take my dumps already.

Take him to North Dakota and feed him to a wood chipper.

Hey, I'm just saying, you can't let him set a precedent like this and get away with it. Next thing you know, people will use your pencil sharpener on your desk, and not empty it out for months, and then when your pencil lead is dull you'll try to sharpen it but the sharpener will operate sluggishly at best because of all the unwelcome, uninvited pencil shavings in there, and then when you go to empty the pencil sharpener (in your trashcan!) it's so full that you get a small but noticeable pencil lead dust mark on your long sleeve white shirt when you open it to dump it out. I mean, really!

In your trash can? And you're worried about the coffee?

Crop Duster:

Passing gas in a stealth manor, usually while walking through a crowd or a group, so that someone else gets blamed for the stench, or at the very least people besides the assailent must suffer it.

"stealth manor"... hmm, is that a plantation house that you can't see from 5 feet away at high noon?

Hmmm, I think my imagination was better.

Seriously though, take your trash bag with his coffee in it, find him and hand it to him, look him in the eye and say "I'm sorry, my name isn't: "The butler" please dispose of your trash in your own can next time."

Do it publicly and loud enough that people stand up and see whats going on, the little ass won't ever pull that again.

Workspace is a prized commodity, don't let some schmuck step on what little personal space you have attained at your job. its a matter of courtesy that this guy obviously doesn't feel bothered to follow.

Did he dump the grinds/filter leftover or just the coffee that was in his mug?

Either of those seems extreme. Who would dump any liquid straight into a garbage bag?

Or...

Was it like a togo cup from Starbucks, that I can see, throwing away the whole beverage. If so, then thats legal. Its trash and it goes in the garbage. Trying to discern what trash can and cannot go into your personal garbage can seems a bit much. We're not talking egg shells and empty cat food tins here.

It was a paper cup, open. I'm not some kind of trash nazi or anything, but the smell did get annoying, especially since I'm trying not to drink coffee. I'll probably mention it to him if he does it again.

Wait, you knew who did this and did nothing?! I assumed you had no idea who did it. I would have walked into his cube and switched trash cans preferably while he was in there.
